Midlands Run / Pub Meet & Banter Thread.

You'll find all useful info here for all the midlands runs and pub meets, plus the usual banter

More of a mini MINI run and a pub meet too...

just a few of us getting together for a drive around

locations & sights...
Snake Pass, cat & fiddle and any other great roads along the way... we'll find a pub somewhere along the way too for some food..

this will be a NO run notes route just follow the leader... plenty of time alongf the way for pics too..

I had a search around and found the United Midlands thread looking a bit sad and underused so I thought it was time to get our own brand spanking new Banter and general chat thread going. There seem to be a lot of MINI owners in the area so hopefully we can sort a few drives out now the weather is getting better. Hope to see some of the usual suspects and new members in the Midlands posting up on this thread...

I will start up by saying yesterday was a top day for a drive, good to meet Olly and find some new roads out to the east of Nottingham. Just wish I'd had the convertible to drive but I cannot get insurance... damn that soft top roof!!

How is everyone today and when is our next drive going to be... next weekend anyone

Hey Ben - yeh top drive - did the right thing just entering a village into the GPS and seeing where it's take us - your mate has an awesome car! I'm up for a drive most weekends - so would be good to get a few more meets together. You say your off in a Ferrari on Sat? What type??

355 Spider. We were going to head out a couple of weekends ago but the clutch cable snapped outside the QMC so I ended up directing traffic round a bright red broken down traffic island lol!
I am free most weekends and I think Rob (with the 182) is around quite often although he is at uni in Leeds so he splits time between there and here. I've got another mate with a smart car which is good for a drive... just so stupid but fun

I am definitely up for some more drives, those roads towards Harby were very good indeed

Roger that Olly, good to get a group together for a drive. I can do the next 3 weekends. Even if we just decide the day before that we fancy a spin, it'd be nice to be able to ask around and see if anyone else fancies a run, same as we did on Sunday!

I am free on Sunday fo shnizzle and probably Saturday if the weather isn't top notch! Ferrari drivers don't like anything but sunshine

The smart driver is another mate and I called him yesterday but it turns out he is very busy with work. He might be up for a run at the weekend.
Even if it is just me and you in the Cooper that'll be a good drive lol

This weather sucks!

As much as I would like to take my One out for a final cruise, I'm freaked out about anything happening to it as it has been valued and the deal done on the part-exchange.

I've also got more bits to strip off it this weekend, so I might be a bit too busy tbh.

Never know though, if the weather improves, I could be tempted

I know what you mean about putting the car in cotton wool for the part-ex value - don't want any mishaps before the sale!
If we don't see the One, hopefully we'll see the Cooper on a drive soon
