New MINI Severns Christmas meal - Saturday 9th December 2006.
This year we are to return to the Carpenters arms at Stanton Wick. There are some rooms at the pub and you can contact them on 01761 490202. The function room holds a maximum of 36 people so its a 1st come 1st served basis.
Price will be similar to last time (around £23 per head) and I will send menus out when they are confirmed. Please sign up for this event on this thread - and only use the e-mail address for the venue for booking rooms etc
heres a review about the pub to wet your appetite:
The Carpenters Arms is situated in the tiny Hamlet of Stanton Wick, overlooking the beautiful Chew Valley yet only 8 miles from the hustle and bustle of Bristol, 8 miles from the civilised culture of Bath and 13 miles from the Cathedral in the City of Wells. Converted from a row of 17th Century miners' cottages, The Carpenters Arms gives the impression that the surrounding countryside was designed around it; on cooler days, an open log fire in the low beamed bar sets an atmosphere only created in an English country inn; on warmer days the terrace allows the perfect sanctuary for a long lazy drink.
A choice of smoking or non-smoking restaurants set the stage for cuisine that could only be prepared and served by chefs that have 100% commitment to their profession. Only the finest ingredients are considered for dishes on The Carpenters Arms menu. Local West Country produce are always used in their seasons; Trout from the Chew Valley Lake, Strawberries from Cheddar and Local Game are but a few things you may see over the year, even a sandwich comes on hand cut locally baked bread. Children, vegetarians and people with dietary needs are always catered for. Of course, a comprehensive wine list, real ales, ports and brandies are available to compliment such a dining experience. The Carpenters Arms also boasts 12 delightful bedrooms, all individually decorated in a `cottage style'. Each bedroom has a recently refurbished bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, satellite television, trouser press and direct dial telephone.
