Moonpie...you're very welcome. I teach, so there's plenty of time in August to plan stuff like this. The photo shoot detail was needed because we'll never be together for one at Angelina's...it sits on a busy road, where some of us will find spots, but most will be on a side street. Go to the street past the retaurant and hang a right, because I think I remember the one before it being one way (the wrong way).

Ken, my husband and I would love to join your convoy of Minis this Saturday. I just bought an S at the only other dealer in MD who's got them...Tate BMW on Rt.50. She's dark silver with black roof and rally stripes and loaded with every option but 2...GPS seemed a tad over the top, and that backup warning system. I figure if ya can't park one of these babies, ya shouldn't be driving We'll see you at 9:30sharp at the dealership in Towson. We will be joining you all for lunch as well. Can't wait!

Here's my list of who's going...what kinda car...and how many for lunch reservations:

Myself Electric Blue "S" 3
Paddy BRG Cooper 1
L.MINI Silver Cooper 1
MoonPie & MINIMiller DS "S" 2
Jim Indie Cooper 2
Gizmogeek Silver Cooper 1
Minh Giang (iffy) Electric Blue "S"
Mr. & Ms. Ron Sinclair Red Cooper 2
Brian Garfield Red "S"
aMINIbull Silk Green Cooper
rmorin ??? 2
Paul & Katie Wms DS "S" 2

We need a yellow, and a black right? Are there any other flavors missing? If we leave the "one car length per 10 MPH" recommended (by somebody), we'll have a 1/4 mile of MINIs on Saturday!

Good math Ken.

If you do that, you surely won't have a line of MINIs. There's no way we'll get away with six car lengths between each car without many people ruining it. Plus, this coming from an "aggressive driver", you're going to have to drive "aggressively" to catch back up once two or three or four people get between everyone.
Sorry to be so sinical, but that's the way it is.

HOPEFULLY, people will notice it's a line of MINI's and try not to break it, but they'll be trying to get off on their exits, and of course jumping into the left lane immediately after getting on the beltway.

We'll have to do the best we can, but I'm sure most of you DON'T leave "one car length per 10 MPH" in everyday traffic.

Just trying to be a realist.

Thanks Ken for getting this event together. Sounds like a
great time. Unfortunately, I have to be in Washington that
day, and will miss it. Hope to hook up some time in the
future with all the local Mini owners. Gettysburg sure
would make a nice event, after all the tourists go home.

Garfield Good Point

That is what happened to all of us down in Richmond on our cruise...which is why Seth had lots of stops along the way to regroup...although that was necessary because we were wayyyy in the back woods of ol' Virginny. It was still a BLAST!

As this will prove to be!!!

LUNCH !!!

Well...I made reservations at Angelina's today, and committed to at least 15. They gave us a nice deal too. We should have our own area together, and a limited menu that will assure we get served together and in a timely manner. The cost of your lunch will be $13.95 plus 5% tax plus 20% gratuity, or a total of $17.50 per person. I'll put the whole thing on my VISA, so ya'll can either hand me $17.50 cash or write me a personal check (to ken shapiro) for your total. You;ll be able to choose from one of six entrees: Crabcake (of course), prime rib, shrimp salad platter, chicken parmesan, veak parmesan, or shrimp & scallops maranara. You'll get a salad with house dressing, a choice of three deserts, and a drink (ice tea, soda, etc.) The price does not include any alcho, but you can pony up for some if you wanna (and your the designated passenger).

Remember to gas up on the way to Towosn MINI...we won't be stopping after we leave.

I'm going to try to rearrange my weekend so my wife and I can make the cruise and lunch. Our MINI is solid Indi Blue.

Thumbs up Gettysburg

PA MINI,
Went by Gettysburg on Wednesday morning on my way to Redskins training camp up in Carlisle. Lots of fun roads up in that area. I would be very happy come up for a nice drive once the tourist leave.

Thumbs up Fall Colors

All,
On Saturday maybe we should discuss a possible trip down the Blue Ridge to look at the Fall colors. I think that would be a beautiful drive. Any thoughts????
