Can't Make It After All

Unfortunately, I can't make the drive tomorrow after all. I hope we can still get a group together on the 17th.

Have fun and don't eat too many crabs!!

Blue Ridge Cruise

I'm definitely interested in a cruise in the Fall. Starting at Front Royal and cruising the Skyline Drive would be great. Could return via old U.S. 11. Probably early October would be peak time for the leaves depending on when we get our first good frost.

I drove Skyline in my MINI last month and it was great fun. It's a slow road (due to other traffic, not the MINI's abilities) but the scenery makes up for it. I got to see a woman try to get close to a mama bear and her 2 cubs. I almost got to see a woman get mauled by a mama bear.

I'm looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing old ones tomorrow.

happy motoring!

Cool Hi acetonic

MiniMiller and I did part of Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway last year, before Mini. It was a fun drive, yes it was slow. Agree, the scenery was wonderful, lots of deer, no bears.

(or lions and tigers, oh my!)

Looking forward to seeing you and Vanessa tomorrow as well!

ARGHHHHH,,,with rmorin dropping out (that's two lunches) we're down to 14 eaters (and I'm committed to paying for a minimum of 15. Somebody bring a friend...or a homeless person...or Martha Stewart before she goes to jail.

Somebody bring a digital camera so we can have pictures up on the site after the event. What a beautiful group we'll have. And the cars will look good too!

I'll bring mine. And if you bring your own floppy, I can give you the pictures ON SITE. My camera will make "whole disc copies" in the camera.

I really WANT to do the lunch, but I'm working afterwards now.

Cool

Mine also writes to floppy disk. Just bring floppies and as Garfield said you can take them home with you.

Thumbs up That was fun

It was great to see everyone at the meet today. For those that missed it, we had 14 MINIs show up. Great company and great food. I will have photos posted later and I'm eager to see the ones all of you took as well. Here's a small one to get started.

FUN!

Yes that was super fun! Except that I was wearing contact lenses that were torn. (OUCHIE!) That'll teach me to put them on without examining them!

It was definitely fun, especially the Dam road. Here's a group shot from the other side.
I'm disappointed I couldn't make lunch, but 35 minutes of work for a good amount of money took priority...

Although the video idea didn't turn out as well since the road didn't look as good or show the cars as well on the way back, if someone has a way to post video mpgs, let me know, I'll throw a couple up.

It WAS Great. We had 14 cars representing every color MINI has. There were 26 people in those 14 cars, and 20 of us were able to make lunch, which was delicious. John and Barb Tessner (sp?) even showed up dressed for the wedding they had to attend. They peeled off 3/4 of the way through the drive to go to the wedding!

I've organized many events in my life, and no matter how ell you pull things off, somebody always seems to have a gripe. Not this group...a real nice bunch of MINI fanatics!
