Fresh on the heels of the GP launch at the London Motor Show, MINI is launching the R56 mini at the Paris Motor Show.

We are making a weekend of it, sailing from portsmouth to Le Havre on the 11.30 friday night crossing on the 6th October. After arriving in Le Havre at 7.30 am we will whizz along the motorway to spend all day Saturday at the show, before checking into a hotel in Versailles around tea time. Saturday night is a short train ride into Paris to see paris by night, while Sunday is free to explore either Paris or Versailles before heading back to catch the 5pm ferry, which gets back to Portsmouth at 9.30 pm on Sunday evening.

The return ferry crossing is from as little as £55.00 return rising to £134.00 with an overnight cabin (don't book cabin for return trip and only book 1 cabin) and the hotel is approximately £50.00 a room.

Book the hotel here Le Cheval Rouge by e-mailing them requesting the type of room you want. We have chosen this hotel in Versailles to avoid the nightmare of Paris driving and because it has secure overnight parking, it is two minutes from the palace of Versailles and the train station to Paris!

I believe Matts already expressed an interest in this else where, we'd both really like to go will have a chat with him to sort it out. Also have a friend who would be interested in joining in, but when we know if we can, he'll know if he can so then we'll let you know if we all can that was a bit of a mouthful

I have taken the easy option and am flying from Heathrow on the Monday 2nd Oct for the day to see the R56 in the flesh.

Have e-mailed MINI and they have confirmed there won't be a MINI owners area like the UK owners get, so no free drink or somewhere to collapse

Just remember "Un Beir Si Vous Plait" and you'll be OK! (Excuse the french, I left school last century!)

I'm going but flying too. Shame I'm going to miss the convoy as its not very far from me with me living in Portsmouth but the trip is only costing me £100 with flights and accomodation. I'm flying in early Saturday 30th September and having the day in paris, see the sights, then Sunday spending the whole day at the motorshow, I'm so excited! Less than a month to go!!! Shame there won't be a members area. I'll take my keys with me anyway just in case if I still have them then! Might pop along to the ferry terminal to wave off the convoy!

nice one, which airline and airport are you flying to paris from for 50 quid if you don't mind me asking, would be handy to know for future reference.
