I have always tried to do both but it can get costly with accomodation and fuel bills so tend to do more southern runs thats not to say that I won't try some Northern runs. As for a divide well I'm slightly divided about that I think that people in the North will tend to support local runs just as the southerners do in the south but I think that there is always a fair mix of runs to please both the north and the south! When I nod my head...... hit it! ![]() ![]()

very true, if anything the southern MINI2's attend more events as they have more, they also attended this years ball based in the North in greater numbers than the Northern members after all the moaning that they did asking for it to be in the north ![]() Its quality that attracts people to attend

seems like all the run activity at the moment is either in the south/south-west or yorkshire, although i have to say its been a quiet one for big runs this year generally. lots of local runs but nothing major other than the cotswolds & the heartbeat. dunno what happened to the jocks this year plus when's the last time there was a run in wales or the peak district?

I see more Southerners going North than North going South but does it really matter at all There is a hardcore of people who will travel - Jon/Rakey etc will go South - Brummie/Cabrio/RVW will go North. But overall people will do what they feel they want to do and what they can afford. People are more likely to attend a local run than travel as it's so much easier - that said I've driven Northampton to Thirsk, done a run to Morecambe and then back to Thirsk and then home to Northampton - and had a passenger with me who'd come from London to do it ...... all in a day! It's not something I do often as it's knackering - once a year for an old fella like me But I equally miss as many South runs as North ones - I've still yet to do Southdowns or Malverns!
