Donington Park is set for a Mini adventure next weekend with the arrival of the Dunlop Great & British Motorsport Festival.

Spectators can expect action packed racing from a true British classic when the Mini Miglia, Mini Se7en and Mini Coopers take to the track at the popular East Midlands circuit.

Dunlop tyres are offering drivers of Minis old and new the chance to drive the twists and turns of Donington Park, with the first 100 to arrive at the circuit given access to the track during the lunch break.

James Bailey of Dunlop Tyres said: "The Mini is one of the most iconic symbols of British motoring and we are delighted to have the Mini Challenge as part of Dunlop's Great & British Motorsport Festivals.

"The Dunlop Great & British events are designed to be more than just a typical race weekend and for Donington we thought it would be a great idea to give the public a chance to experience the race circuit as well. Therefore we want Mini owners to come down in their cars and see how it feels to hit the track."

Yet it is not all fun and frolics at Donington Park next weekend - as there is the small matter of four hotly contested championships to be decided. Supercharged Minis will be accompanied by racing from the Radical Sportscars, the Ginetta championship, and classic Touring Cars from the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

Race-goers are offered a fantastic opportunity to purchase two tickets for the price of one prior to the event - a saving of £12. "This is a wonderful offer for an event that will entertain young and old", said Donington Park, Managing Director Brian Pallett. "With the season drawing to a close it seems fitting that such a classic British event should take place at Donington Park."

I am going on Sunday. I went to the Mini Festival at Brands Hatch earlier this year & it was a great day out. Look forward to seeing you on Sun - Look our 4 my number plate!
