MINI2 Family Picnic + drive Lake Windermere in memory of Ruthie Sat July 28 2007

I with some others will be organising a family picnic in late Spring/Summer 2007 in memory of one of M2's most popular members, Ruthie. It will take place at Fell Foot Park at the southern tip of the lake and children and other family members are welcome to come along . Fellfoot Park is a National Trust property and there are a few photos here. It also has a rhododendron garden which I'm sure Ruthie would've enjoyed sitting in. Additionally you can also hire boats if you fancy a trip on the lake. Plus there is a kids play area and also a tea room and ice cream shop.

There will also be a short, leisurely drive for those who are interested, to the same spot where Ruthie released a baby Quack Quack Jack duckie last year in memory of another popular M2 member Ed "Maxamini". This time we will release another QQJ in remembrance of Ruthie. The spot is a place on the stream at Wrynose pass where Minicabrio (Jon) and myself were fortunate to be able to spend some time with Ruthie last year.

As I said the day will be a family affair with no official start times for anything - just a chance to enjoy a beautiful location at a pleasant time of year in the company of good friends.

Lovely idea pingu! I am provisionaly saying I will be there, but I am away for a couple of weeks at some point over the summer so it does depend on what dates we ae looking at for this.

If i am unable to make it, I hope everything goes well and QQJ is released happily in memory of ruthie

I may not be able to get there myself, but I'd like to send a duck to let go as well, or we could plan to do that in the US at the same time, like we did with Maxamini. (We let ducks go on Maxamini's birthday, 8/1. Ruthie's birthday is 3/17.)
