Hiya mate, how's it going? Happy New Year to you!

There are a good few of us about, though things have been a bit quiet of late. The next big run will be the Irish Job at the end of February (there's a thread on it somewhere) which is mainly based in NI. We might try and have a bit of a run out between now and then too.

Whereabouts in NI are you from? And tell us about your MINI!

Welcome mate, Happy new year to ya!

And to all the Northern Ireland Mini2'ers who will view this thread now!

Think everybody's been hibernating over the winter as nylo says, would be good to get something going before february. I know there are a few mini2'ers who would definitely like to do something soon, and dad's itching to drive the GP!!

I think it's BP's turn to organise something!

Nylo:
Oh aye, dad was saying he saw ya the other day nylo, he was in the saab tho, so you wouldnt have noticed him lol. Said the S was rather dirty!!!! :-p

im from dungannon. yeh would defo love to get a run out with you lads soon because i hardly no any proper mini owners round n.ireland unfortunatly i cant make it 2 the irish job so we'll hopefully get a run out before that.

I'v only ever been at the mini event in portrush in the summer there. but it was quite nerve wrecking for me becuase at the time i was only a learner (u mite that noticed the black cooper with big L plates up on it) and getting across the steel bridge at the harbour was quite a tought 1 considering i'd only bin driving 2 months so i'd far rather have another run out with u all again were i wont have to worry about obstakles like that.

Yes that's me, I woosed out of the sunday run, as did several mini2'ers, at portrush because of that bridge.

I think your dad was with you, and we were talking to him after the judging, which seemed a tad farcical (spelling)! You were driving a cooper Works. Oh you will be BP's favourite friend, she used to drive a cooper works!!!

The other GP that was there is for sale in antrim, and on ebay afaik.

The Lough Shore? As in North Belfast? Strangford Lough? Or Lough Neagh?

Helloooooo, I'm still here........

Yeah, the run round Lough Neagh was great fun. We did it in Minis mostly but I did at least one lap in the Cooper while planning it out. I'd be happy to share/guide the route for anyone interested in it.

Basically it follows National Cycle route 92 so there are plenty of signs to keep everyone together - however for that very reason it would be best avoided in the summer as there are too many damn cyclists on it....

When we did it the roads were pretty much deserted. We did however finish it in darkness due to a poorly planned lunch stop (my fault ) but then that just added to the fun! Muddy single track roads with grass up the middle in the dark.........I was glad I was at the front with full beam and spotlights on!

Anyhow, if you were planning on leaving anything out I would strongly suggest not leaving out Glenavy to Antrim - probably the best roads of the day. I know that area really well and could probaly find good roads from Antrim to Belfast if it was needed!

Some pictures:

Step, this might be a good run for the Saturday of the IJ. Any chance of having a wee look at the notes? My email address is nylo80@hotmail.com. Probably use the Radisson at the Gasworks as a base again this year, so would need to sort something from there to Antrim, but I'm sure I could have a look at that

Are you coming on the IJ? Might be useful to have you there if you know the roads
