I will be using a nice little family run hotel I know not far away, stayed there for 18 years last time . In all seriousness there are plenty of hostels, campsites, and hotels in the area. Will see about some links.
Yes Hotel sound good i used Goonery's link, and thinking of making a booking at the Swallow Falls Hotel not sure how close it is to starting line but looks rather scenic.
Would be nice to stay as a group but trying to make a mini holiday out of it as well so think i will stick with swallow's unless better suggestion is made.!!
It won't be an early start everyone, 11 ish to allow for all travellers and local overnighters to the start. The run should be around 4 hours, but maybe 5 if we linger in the stopping places.
We'll be doing around 130 miles if the weather is favourable a bit less if its really nasty, but I think It will be ok for the whole thing .
I stopped there for a bite to eat when I was going to the Cotswolds last August, it's certainly in a picturesque, though the bar didn't do great food. Think there are waterfalls across the road which we decided we didn't have time for, but which seemed to attract a lot of people
This sounds great, was up there a couple of years ago with my daughter for a school project (not in the MINI) and thought how great it would be to drive these roads so count me in.
Will be staying overnight so a run SZunday morning will be good too.
would be great to arrange meet up drinks or something - we are planning on driving down on the friday morning and making a weekend of it hence the 2 nights stay at the swallow falls. Either way sure it will be a great meet.
Start Point is in the centre of Betwys -Coed follow signs to Parking/Railway Station and go to the end of the road where you will find the 'Motor Museum' MINI's will be at the farthest end from the main road. It's pay and display but if you all arrive on time we might get away with it:
See the 1st post for details later today/evening where there will be taster pics of some of the run
