From the photo's though, you wouldn't think a new MINI had ever taken part!

I'm proud to the owner of the only MINI to be pictured in Modern MINI, Miniworld and Mini Mag (although you have to look hard to find her in the classic mags).

It's a shame that Modern MINI and Esquire haven't given the event, or it's participants that worked hard raising money, the credit it's due. My MM subscription has lapsed and think it may stay that way as the content and journalism has got pretty poor recently.

Has everyone managed to gather and send in all their sponsorship money?

I'm afaid to say I'm not at all impressed with CG-Lock!!!

Despite an offer of 4 of their products worth at least £120 that we were going to put up for auction and a donotion of £50 we have heard nothing from them. They have failed to even reply to our last two emails!!

I managed to collect everything that was committed however I sent it off slightly late

When a sponsor just does not honour their commitments it is absolutely shamefull.

I do not think that you are the only person who has suffered this - if I remember correctly Nathan had some problems after the 2006 IJ

It just leaves a sour taste in your mouth

In Italy

That it does, especially as I called in a few favours from friends to write up glowing reports of their product to use on their website!!

Nope not at all. I left their logo on the car during the IJ, so if it did appear in any magazines I could use it as 'bargaining tool'

I might just send one last stinking e mail yet!!

Hi guys. After doing today's Top Gear Run it really got me thinking about the Italian Job!! Problem is I don't know much about it - can we use sponsor money to help cover fuel costs etc? Can anyone participate? Do you need a certain amount of people in the car? Just a few little things as I'd love to take part

You have to be 21 to be the driver and your co-pilot must be at least 19

You could try and get a company to sponsor for fuel but, the main aim of the game is raising for the charity.

The IJ website has some info on it, but look through last years thread as that would probably be of more use
