We've had a meeting with the police today. We're having to cap the numbers off at 250 MINI's.
This is due to logistacal problems ie. space on site, shutting the roads off & so there is less risk of an accident occuring.

And yes, if anyone asks.. we are very nearly there

although we are saying to cap the numbers off at 250, we are going to be holding a reserve list so when the numbers do creep up then we can hold them on the reserves

Hi all, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has registered so far, we wish we could get to 300 but logistically it would be a nightmare.. the police are doing a superb job and we are looking forward to a really spectacular night...lets hope everyone who has registered turns up...

Actually... I've just had a great idea... I could wash everyone's Mini before the convoy...

I was talking to Chris and Anthony about this yesterday. Wouldn't it be a bit safer to let the numbers creep past 250 now - say, up to 270 odd? This will allow for a 10 to 20% drop out on the night for whatever reason and still keep the numbers between the existing record and the capped limit. If entries are stopped at 250 it could be cutting it fine with a 20% drop out (yeah, I did pick this percentage out of thin air though!).

20% dropout would be a lot in my opinion. Anyway, the reserve list they're hoping to set up should cover that.

If you look at the similar threads link at the bottom of the page you'll see that the current Canadian record holders had 250 registered but only 195 turned up, someone worked that out at 21%. Here's a link to the thread

Hopefully we will have fewer no shows.
