| Back To My Old Self | Lordy will be having a look at pics at lunchtime and will get it sent through or posted in my gallery. Will let you know either way. Good to meet you guys last night, hope to see you soon. Morning also to all those I met last night for the first time; Boobels, Ollie h(& a very cold Angela?), Killerbyte, Picard, and Mini Trainer. Oh and of course Jonnywhite, work next door to each other in Northwich and have to drive to Blackpool to finally meet. Sorry I missed Cooper S Dan. Our convoy of MINI's from Charnock looked great in the rearview mirror accompanied by some fabulous UNKLE tunes. |

Offline | Many thanks to all the organisers and folks who turned up. I know how much work goes into making these things happen - much more than when you think the line "Hang on, lads; I've got a great idea" It was fantastic seeing all those Minis, classics and new, all in one place and the whole night and atmosphere was great, as were the band (even if they looked about 12), especially the guitarist (no not that one... I meant the lead) who surprised me by their great choices. It was a great run, with all those folks waving, and the kids whose mum had let them out in their pyjamas to sit on the wall and wave, and all the lights flashing on the way back. Whilst we didn't hear much in the way of horns, I could swear I did hear a loud "quack quack" from somewhere... Now my partner definitely wants a Mini. I told her she should look when we bought her last one but no, she wouldn't listen, but having been a part of last night she wants one now, oh yes, now she wants one... |

We need to also thank the police who were exceptional... Big pat on the back to everyone involved and to all the drivers who stuck to the rules and made for an amazing scene... Offline | Just a quick one to say a big thank you to the team at Derek Woodmans and the police, you all did a great job, very well organised. What a fantastic evening, and my first Mini meet as well. Really good to see so many Mini's all in one place! Only downside though was doing the 60 mile journey home on the back of a low loader courtesy of Mini Emergency. Basically got a puncture on the way up, Mini advised that if it was a slow puncture I would be ok to drive it home, but this was anything but a slow puncture (just my luck !) so a tow home was in order. So much for run flat tires eh! Still didnt distract from being a great night, those burgers were real tasty!! |

Offline | Just got my car with these tyres and wondered how they'd work if they went (I was told they are prone to punctures and are expensive) and how easy it would be to tell (the handoverperson's "the light just comes on and you have to press this button to equalise things" was less than convincing!). Be interested in your experiences of how it happened and how good Mini Emergency were. Didn't expect they'd come out for a puncture in a run flat tyre so that's pretty good. |
