We're on for Lancs Lanes 2 on Sep 23rd. Run start 10.30am. Gabbing/coffees from 9.45am on.

Some of the roads will be the same but I will add some different ones too. However, the focus will be on the Trough and Forest of Bowland again.

Important Points

Firstly - this is NOT a race and should not be viewed as such.


Run newcomers should note that the run will be fairly nippy - however no-one is under any obligation to keep up with any group/s ahead of them and should do the run at a pace that they are comfortable with. In particular 30mph/residential limits must be strictly obeyed and run attendees should not risk their safety or the safety of others by engaging in dangerous manouevres. It is a requirement of the run that run attendees ensure they are fully fit to take part in this event and that their vehicles are roadworthy.

Please ensure you look out for those both ahead of you and behind you and show all road users due respect. It is possible that you may encounter horse riders on the day so please make sure you pass them at crawling pace only. If you need to stop at any time please make sure you try and pick a safe place to stop.

And, please, no showboating.

The first Lancashire Lanes Run was a great day out and we would like to make sure that this is also incident free.

The event will start at 10.30am sharp at Derek Woodman MINI by the M55 here:MINI Dealer Online Network. Tesco 99 and sandwiches are available on the other side of the M55 to Derek Woodman. (As most people will be coming from the east on the M55 For Derek Woodman turn left at J4 and for Tesco turn right).


As per last time we will begin with a couple of laps of the roundabouts between Derek Woodman and the M55 to get everyone on the road.

Once again there will also be a short run briefing in the MINI showroom where you will also be able to collect run notes for the day.

It is anticipated to last until mid to late afternoon and there will be an early lunch (12.00-ish) at the Stork Inn & Pub just outside Lancaster. After lunch (around 1.30) we will pick up the M6 briefly, head further north and east, and pick up the Trough of Bowland at the top end and work our way down.

Please allow about 1/2 tank of fuel for the run.

Key times (approx):

9.45 onwards - arrive for gabbing/photos and run registration.
10.15 - walkthrough of run notes
10.25 - start your engines and loop the roundabouts between the M55 and Derek Woodman.
10.30 - start of section 1 of the run.
12.00 - lunch at the Stork Inn just outside Lancaster.
1.30 - start of section 2 of the run.
3.00-3.30 finish main section
3.30-4.00 head back to Derek Woodman, post run gabbing/photos etc.
