Offline | Just a small point to note, was great to see so many beautiful, well looked after classics again, they sure are photogenic but it still makes me sad that some classic drivers have a real chip on their shoulders about the new mini's. Isn't everyone in it just to have fun and enjoy the driving? It still annoys me that some refused to even acknowledge me when flashing or waving just because I have a mark II. And silly petty comments such as, and I quote, "no don't photograph from there you'll get the modern ones on. We only want pictures of the old ones" don't do anything to improve relations. ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Tbh, didn't really notice much of the anti-new feeling, maybe I just ignore it and chat to them anyway, I guess we all like different things in the end ![]() It did amuse me that someone put a mini2 sticker next to to 100% BMW free sticker on a classic Amused me even more it stayed on ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | Yeah was good you knew that bit in Calderbridge ![]() As for Birker and Corney, they have featured on previous runs Russ.. Mikey's been doin the Lakes tour for about 248 years now . LMAO I remember last year on Birker... Nat backed us all up and held us for about 5 minutes whilst we let some stupid 4x4 or whatever it was pu$$yfoot its way over ... they we nailed it ... that had to be one of the fastest ascents up Birker I've ever done (had to use $ in the word pu$$yfoot due to forum censors) |

| MINI2 Master | Hehe, that was me in the Silver Cooper leading and the red S was Fishtail (Nat). The exhaust is a Larini I believe .Many S owners agree that the Cooper is a better drive around bends n' stuff in comparison to the S. Mainly because the Cooper delivers less power to the front wheels therefore there is less skipping and spinning especially when climbing around bends n' what not ![]() Although he S's obliterate us Coopers on straights, we're well up with them there in the twistys ![]() All in all, the MINI is a kick ass handling car ![]() Glad you liked the drive. Mikey always does a top notch job of getting the best roads. ![]() Apologies to all for the couple of mistakes.. Thank god Russell was around to fix it ![]() |

Offline | I'm amazed you remembered that Wiggy ![]() Twas indeed a great weekend. Real big thanks to Mikey - it's amazing how much effort he puts into organising it all. It takes a lot to produce pace notes for over 200 miles of lakeland roads. Of course, its a shame he doesn't bother with pace notes for the short cuts required for the photo crew ![]() Another big thanks from me goes to Jon for bolting my front bumper back on after a wee jump on Sunday Mikey has now made some further modifications to said front bumper so I have a full Jump Spec aerokit - expect a very entertaining Tour next year ![]() |
