Does anybody know what that "Mini Speedster" was parked by the tunnel steps?

It's on page 6 of the photos, image number 10.

It's clearly some kind of GRP kit for a classic Mini, but I have spent half the morning trying to find the details of it, to no avail.

its not a GRP kit it was built out of a metal mini, was featured in one of the classic mini mags a few years back.

Will bow to your superior knowledge. Mini speed have a small cropped image that looks like the same car, but in orange on their website header, so I assumed it was a kit.

if it is be careful of stupid RAC men who like to lean there fat ass on the bodywork - had to get RAC to pay BMW for replacement wing as Mr Fat**** dented the panel! grrrr

Over the years there have been a couple of home built speedsters, i know the yellow one from mini speed, theres also a red one i saw many years ago on the london to brighton run long befoe BMW minis and the blue one you saw yesterday has been around a few years. If i can actually find it i'll scan the article for you

Well done everyoneone I didnt have the heart for the 200mile round trip yesterday too tired probably a good thing though as Baby James decided he wasnt going to sleep last night.

Only been to the preseason race so far got to get my finger out.

On the Speedster Subject I have a picture of the yellow one somewere very much a steel creation funny enough it was the day John Cooper Garages were entering a "Works" car in a racing series for the first timne in something like 30years. It was a Mallory Park Trackday and Race weekend and the car was a Rover Cooper spi in the Mighty Minis Series.
