Great day, really enjoyed the track action. Excellent warm up event for the Cotswold Run.
Monkey Nuts, fantastic pics but you toof a pic of my misses and not our Mini!!!!!!!
cheers dude
purely an arty shot with the roof's of the minis,
i can edit the post/pic if needed just let me know mate
just looks better than a grufty old man with a beard
I dont want to sound as if I'm trying to put a downer on your fantastic efforts, but I'm a little confused!
The Derek Woodman record attempt set the new world record at 269 cars. I took part in the event and subseqently a certificate was issued by Guiness to confirm our record....
The American MINI community then set a 'new' world record of 273 cars, however I dont know if this record was officaly recorded by the relevant Guiness authoirties?
Now you guys have managed to get 271 MINI's its all a little confusing! If the Americans attempt was indeed official then it would seem no record has been broken. However if the Americans attempt was never rattified, and yours was officaly recorded then it would seem you have broken the world record.
Can anyone confirm this?
Regards,
James.

I have to say I am a little concerned about the way this "Record" is dominating proceedings as a follower of the John Cooper Challenge I have to say Who realy cares?
A few yeras ago there were two cars from Mini2 at Donnington and a handfull of other Minis dotted around. At Thruxton a few years back about 12 of us blagged a couple of laps at Lunchtime but now throw some lame record idea into the mix and people come out of the woodwork they didnt even give a decent discount 2 for 1 would have been be no use to me.
Just Chill out celebrate the fact you all had a nice day out saw some great racing and got to show off your Minis just wish I had the energy to make it on the day.
Hope to make it to Croft at the end of the Month
....and a word of warning if they try and repeat the stunt they pulled last year if you havent pre paid park up and walk away its not likely you will get on the track. You will be kept waiting though in the hope of a reserve place and will miss out on several races.
It was a fun packed day in more ways than one!! as 3 Challenge cars were written off during the 2nd race !!!! with 2 drivers being asked to go to Hospital - but thy declined.
We did infact break the World Record for the most Mini's in one place and it has been confirmed by the GBof Records. This was what the day was about - we just wanted it to happen at a Challenge event and give you guys'n'gals the chance to say "I was there" as the sticker says
Big thanks to all those behind the scenes for organising the event - and we hope to do it again next year!!!
Many thanks to all those who turned out and it was great to see so many Mini's - and thanks to those of you who popped over to say hi to me - sorry I didn't get to chat to all of you as I was a tad busy repairing 'graphical' damage.
