Hey all.

Its time to dust off the track wheels, pump up the tyres and go play on one of the best tracks in the UK.

I've signed up for the Evo track day at Donnington on 3rd August. You also get free entry to the race weekend (MINI Challenge etc and the hopefully world record breaking parade of MINIs).

I've not done an Evo trackday before (but have done a few track days elsewhere). I have heard some rumours about some of the attendees being a little 'gung-ho' in the past, however I'm assured that the events are more tightly controlled and any poor behaviour results in black flags being displayed.

They even black flagged one of their own journos for 'taking the p*$$!' so I'm looking forward to a great day on the track and a great weekend.

Prices start from £135 for a half day session to £230 for the full monty. Care to join me?

You know me - I need a full days session (some would say it takes me all day just to learn the lines).

So yes I'm doing the whole day as this is the first time I have driven Donnington and I want to get to know the track.

Incidently, Donnington themselves run track days and they are are cheaper than the Evo days, so if I like the circuit I will probably book direct with the circuit for a session later in the year.

Just out of interest, where is the nearest 99RON petrol station for Donnington?

But I tend to take octane booster with me in case I have to settle for BP ultimate (fine for road use but lacks some top end bite on the track).

a check of the Donny website does not shed any light on fuel availability - anyone got any local knowledge?

Whole day with Donny direct is £139 and they have space for July 29th in experienced class Donington Park Online

so going to pass on this & just pay my £12 for 2 tickets to the MINI Challenge
