It's the minority that spoil it and make everyone else look bad. And if I ever see one of those 100% BMW free stickers again...

Good work!

When Rob was against a classic at the start of the day, they were all laughing and cheering when the classic got a better start, but I was the one laughing the hardest when Rob overtook him to beat him by a full second and 30mph higher terminal speed. I felt a bit wary given the number of people looking at me, but f**k 'em. I turned up in a classic but I wasn't being a ****, there's lots of classic owners who are nice, even people who don't own both, it's just the idiots who ruin it.

To be honest, most of the time when a classic beat a new one it was hardly a fair race. It's like all of us laughing if Paul demolished a wheezy 998 doing a 20 second run.

TBH I laugh my ass of when cars break on the strip...I'm sure I wouldn't if it was mine. But **** happens and we all deal with it. As long as no-one gets hurt in an incident on the track or strip I find I have to grin when something goes wrong I can't help it.

There are plenty of classics that went bang at Shakespeare (amongst other stuff like the stupid looking RX7) and I'm sure some of the drag cars did...TBH its part of the fun watching stuff go bang and jeering.

Its harsh on the owners cos its money and time (sometimes a lot of both) down the pan and even more having to be spent to rectify said problem...but if your worried about that then don't stripit or track it (loui is one person who knows what can happen and he accepts that sometimes things break...all you can do is grin and bare it an hope things come right eventually)

PS I have one of the 100% free of BMW parts stickers in my 2 classics!

TBF I did consdier a 100% free of Rover parts one for the S

I agree that it is all part of the fun for some, but when it's unpleasant comments, jeers and personal remarks then that is out of order.

On the bright side tho, we had a fab day and i've even started toying with the idea of getting another mini to do up! Not for the strip tho I'll stick to "show and shine" and it will be "sticker free"
