| Tinkering In The Garage | a couple of MINIs went to Castle Coombe last year and i think one went on the track. Personally i would think twice about taking something that cost me 13-14k on that particular track session as its very much a free for all, i.e they let full blown racers out with boy racers and inexperienced drivers. I have been round on a couple of action days and it can get hairy to say the least. Ady (R50) ![]() |

Offline | I was all for going on the track, but like you said it could be a bit mad, plus I've just shelled out for new tyres and not in a hurry to shell out my hard earned dosh on some more. I'll wait til the MCR have a members own track day there again as they only allow 5 cars on the track at a time |

| MINI2 Global Moderator | From my experience of the Mini World action day they do have trade and club stands there, perhaps we should get a MINI2 one sorted? Could be a chance of getting one more show out of 2002 before the winter sets in and we have to spend weekends trying to chamois our cars before the water freezes after rinsing! the MINI has gone... |

Offline | I was at last years action day. Swiftune were offering 2 laps in a new MINI for £2 or a Mini Pickup for £2. I chose the Pick up 1430 race engine and 5 speed box, race suspension, much faster this was my first sight of a new MINI driven in anger, very squealy but strangely quiet. A hand full of new MINIS in the show area. I am busy this year am at our own (Oldham mini club) autotest. I will have to go to Mallory on the 20th Oct to make up for it. If you dont want to mix it in the show area just park anywhere else on the side of the track. I did last year coz I drove down on my own (old Mini). Have fun. Shaun |
