It was a shame that not many people turned up yesterday at the Georgetown Arena. There seemed to be a lot of interest leading upto it but a disappointing turnout. The three of us that did though had a lot to talk about and I feel that the next meet, still to be organized, will be much better.

Thats not good that many people didn't turn up. I am surprised. I was going to go up but I am having issues with the whole mini purchasing thing and I was also blocked in my garage by my roomates boyfriend's car so I couldn't get out

Be glad to see some pictures. I think for the next time a good thing to do would be to perhaps talk to some dealers and we can print out some flyers or something like that.

Maybe next time the meet should be later in the day because I know I had reservations about waking up so damn early. Make it a late afternoon thing instead.

Hopefully next time more people will be available. If we have these meets regularly then people should be able to turn up now and again. It will probably take time to get most mini owners out. I've heard that Mini Waterloo were planning something but I'm not sure what. However your idea of getting the dealers to hand out flyers is great and one that I have pondered on from time to time. As a graphic designer I should be able to come up with a nice design advertising regular meets. We just have to get the dealers to agree to hand or send them out.

Let me know of any other ideas.

Hey a fellow designer! Sounds good. Maybe we could make up a nice flyer for a fall date. I will work on some concepts!

Yep. T'was dissapointing...

...but we did chat quite a bit. And I enjoyed following the other two (Harry, and Alex) out of the lot - something about a line of MINI's (no matter how small) that makes me smile.

A good friend of mine also suggested having dealerships do a mailing for you - they can't provide customers addresses due to obvious privacy issues, but they certainly could mail out flyers - couldn't they?

I'll start designing a flyer and I'll post it up for you all to approve. I'll also post up the meet photos(sorry, been really busy!!) this weekend.

Sorry to hear the turn out was so low. I work a 6/3cycle so I don't always have weekends off. I had MON. TUES. and WENS. off this past week. Hopefully if there is a fall one I will have the days off! Other than the turn out did you guys have a good time? I hope so!
