Online | Easter Surrey Pub Run - Saturday 22nd March '08 Easter Weekend Pub Run Saturday 22nd March 2008 Hi folks, and thanks for looking in!! As per my previous pub run - this run will take in some of the best pubs in Surrey and Hampshire, with some fun driving in between! Drivers are asked (obviously) to stick to the non-alocholic beverages, other than that, just enjoy yourselves ![]() Pub 1 - Meet and Start Point The first pub and start point will be The Bell in Odiham. (Bell Inn, The Bury, Odiham, Hampshire, RG29 1LY) - meeting at 11-11.30 am for a swift beverage and a 12noon departure. We will then take the leafy country roads out through Long Sutton, Well, Froyle, Bentley and then to Binsted for our second pub stop... Pub 2 - The Cedars - Binsted Our second pub stop brings us to the Cedars in Binstead (The Street, Binsted, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 4PB). We wil be stopping here for lunch Menu to be provided in advance of the run so you can make food choices prior to the day. The Cedars offers fantastic food (Brie and Bacon Baguette anyone?), all reasonably priced. We'll leave The Cedars, and head out through the country lanes towards Churt, picking up the A287 to head south over the A3 and into Shottermill. Pub 3 - The Royal Oak - Shottermill The Royal Oak, Critchmere Hill, Haslemere, Surrey GU27 1LS Tel: 01428 642328 The Royal Oak is a typical country pub, lots of good ales on tap, a big beer garden, and open fires in the winter! For those wanting to depart from here, it's only 1.5 miles from the Hindhead crossroads on the A3. Pub 4 - To be announced Sign up here folks ![]() Jon Attendees....... minicabrio (Jon) Snowie +1 Fizzoid KP Kalle +1 Hyper Active baskers +1 ![]() Last edited by minicabrio : Mar 12th, 2008 at 10:41 AM. |

Online | Actually I'm more concerned on checking there is ample car parking - availability of other drinks such as coffees etc Plus checking all the roads are open and GP friendly ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Through wind and rain and sleet and snow and hail we battled. But still we soldiered on. What a weird day for weather but still great fun. Thanks Jon for organising and cheers to Alan, Jan and Andrew for some great company Not to mention some nice pubs ![]() Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | Thanks Jon for organising this little run. The weather - well what can I say, we have seen everything today. The Company - great to meet up with everyone, really good company and good chats in the pubs. It is nice to be out in a small group as you get plenty of chance to talk, Thanks Chloe, Karl, Andrew and Jon for a good time The Roads - fantastic range of roads, pity that the snow made the first little blast a bit slippy. Interesting being on a run and trying to still run in the GP, keeping to under 4500 rpm was not easy - too tempting to give it some right foot on those lovely twisties. The photos - will be up later when I have downloaded the best ones, looks like we have a couple of good ones in the snow The Pubs - A shakey start with the first one being closed, however the alternative establishment served excellent coffee. Things improved as we went along, Food was excellent and the end at the Mill in Elstead is always a pleasure to visit. Interesting range of pubs though - you know you are in a real drinking establishment when you ask for a latte and the landlord says ' we can not be bothered doing fancy things like that ' ' we do the basic here and off he goes to watch the rugby. Excellent day out with another 60 miles on the car, only got to do another 1000 before it is run in. Cheers everyone Alan & Jan In Italy |
