The third Irish Job is almost upon us! And it's going to be better than ever. It will take place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September 2008.
***If you are planning on attending either day, please be on time and ready to go at the appointed hour from the appointed place as I won't have computer access after Friday night to double check who's doing what and when. Thank you!***
Could anyone with walkie talkies please bring them!
It will kick off on Saturday morning at 9.30am from David Prentice MINI in Portadown, finishing in Londonderry, taking in some stunning scenery and great roads round the Sperrins
Ryan in DP has said he'll clear a spot in front of the showroom to allow for photies before we set off, and there will be a chance to have a cuppa, a chat with the DP guys and a look round the new Works S, which will be in the showroom before we set off. Niall anticipates the run will be about 150 miles in total.
LUNCH: We are anticipating a packed lunch stop for Saturday's run, so please make sure you have a wee jammy piece or a sammich to see you through to tea time (There's mildly a back up plan in place in case of inclement weather, but with the stunning weather we've been having, we shouldn't need to fall back on it...)
***Please make sure you've got petrol before we set off from DP on Saturday morning, as there won't be too many places to fill up along the way!***
The Sunday run will set off from Guildhall Square in Derry at 10.30 am
It will most likely take in some of Inishowen, a truly stunning part of Ireland Estimated finish time of 5pm back at the start point.
The actual starting point of the run is in a village called Muff, just over the border into Donegal, although we will gather in the Guildhall Square beforehand, it would make a good backdrop for a few starting pictures with the city walls in the background etc
Those travelling into the city on the Sunday morning can just follow the directions for City Centre, handiest postcode is BT486DW, this is retail premisis of JP's but is just around the corner from the Guildhall. The actual starting point from there is only a short distance out of town and would give people the opportunity of getting a bit of cheaper fuel across the border.
LUNCH: will be in a pub, so please bring enough YoYos to cover your eating and drinking costs
UPDATE 12th AUG 08: HOTEL INFO FOR SATURDAY NIGHT IN DERRY
JP recommends this hotel highly, and it's an ideal location for the Irish Job, it's within 5 min walk to the city centre, resturants are again all within walking distance, and it's only 10 mins from the starting point on Sunday.
The prices quoted on the website are the best they can offer, there is a pre-pay rate but they only have 4 rooms which are eligable at this price £96 B&B Double & £83 Single B&B these are on a first come first served bases and could all be gone very quickly. The standard prices are Double £104B&B, Single £97B&B and as of today there are only 20 rooms left.
As there are a number of events on in Derry this weekend, you'd be well advised to book your room ASAP, as rooms are scarce throughout the city!
A few people have mentioned parking, this hotel has 40 underground spaces, though this is on a first come first served basis. There is a pay/dispay (Free on sat evening / sun) directly opposite the hotel, where there would be ample room for parking.

What about Fermanagh then Dongael? Cover some of the WRC stages in both areas.
I've still got the massive programme with the stages. If any of this is going to be in the route, I'm going to be Peter Solberg as he's a bit of a showman, was going to be Kris Meeke but he didn't do to well on the 1st day.
Andy, there will be notes for each section of the run, and hopefully more walkie-talkies which helps everyone stick together too. We'll stick you right at the front, sandwiched between the leader and no. 3, with everyone keeping an eye on you anyway
Updates will probably be sketchy at the start, but I'll keep the first post as up to speed as possible
