Minis vs Beetles - York Raceway - Easter Sunday '08

Well its easter again and this year the Minis defend the title after the beetles scuttled off home as the LOOOO-SERS last year. A group of us from the north east are headin to York Raceway for this years event.

There is racing all day from minis v beetles to jap cars, bikes, funny cars and american muscle. And the nova boys' burberry cavalry to provide light entertainment.

Its £10 per car full to spectate
£30 to race but you'll get a few runs at the quarter for that plus bragging rights when the minis are victorious

Timetable is:
8am - gates open
9am - scrutineering starts
10am - signing on starts
10.30am - racing starts
Qualifiers for the shootout are through the day and the shootout itself is usually bout 3pm
One thing i will say is wrap up warm as those who attended the tg run will testify air strip sites are a tad exposed.

Post code for the strip is YO42 4SS. We'll probably convoy down but route is tbc.

The plan formualting at the minute lads and lasses is to meet at the thircon garage on the old
A19 at Thirsk bout 9.30....that way A1 peeps and A19 peeps can join up without really goin out of their way and scoot down to the York ring road...howzat sound?

phil and i are aiming to get there for 9am for scrutineering. think it will be easier for us to meet you there as we can just jump on A1 from darlington

ok mate - that seems to be general concensus at NEMC too - if your running get there for 9 if not meet at Thirsk for 9.30

word from the track is that the event is cancelled due to the weather. So nemc are deferring to plan b meet at the park at chester-le-street opposite the cricket club and go to holy island via seahouses for lunch. Any takers? We are meeting at 1030
