Why does that not surprise me,. You need to buy a Clubman so you can carry your own chair (without arms) around with you then you can sit happily wherever you counting your money

For the journey up, the run, but not the journey back, plus about 60 miles of commuting before the run I've averaged 37.1 mpg according to the OBC which I'm not sure how I managed given that most of the time the gear patten went something like 1,2,3,2,3,2,3,2,3,5,2,1,2,3,2,3,2 repeat infinitum

And so is mine. I didn't think mine would survive the run given I had to bite a hole in it to fit on the aerial

My own special chair! You could have a good theory there

You ate the duck

...also just noticed your 'bangers & mash with chips'

869 miles later...

...and I'm home

I'm not sure where to begin to adequately describe what turned into an absolutely wonderful weekend. There were a few of us who had been looking forward to this weekend so much for so long that it could well have turned into a damp squib, but it well surpassed all expectations and hopes.

Firstly, an absolutely huge thanks to Nicky and Derek for their fabulous run and their second to none hospitality - guys, you really are the best, love you

Jules, the fact that even after 4 days we were still up late talking last night, you're great - love you too

Vickie - absolutely wonderful to meet you at last, and also to find that you can talk eejitry with Jules and me in real life just as well as you do on here

Aiden and Denise - it was just lovely to see you both again, don't be strangers!

And then to new faces (Jimmy, Leccy, Scrogg, Rita and Ian off the top of my head) and old (Paul ) who helped make Saturday night such a good laugh - thank you!

And to everyone else I didn't get a chance to get a proper yarn with, I'm sorry - time seemed to go far too quickly

I did take a few photos which I'll hopefully get up in the next few days as I get myself back in order. Some great photos already up too - just makes me want to be back - doncha just hate the post run blues?!

It's amazing how quickly you get used to having a MINI behind and in front of you, feel quite bereft when you peel off to head home

I'm really glad you enjoyed it - and to hear you talking about the Irish Job, it doesn't sound like you've been put off runs for life...

The uphill part, from Ripley to The Tan Hill pub, gave me figures of 32.2mph and 47.9mpg but it was easier going coming down, from Tan Hill to Brymor, at 31.45mph and 52.9mpg. (With three adults on board, two of whom are overweight six-footers and I don't think my wife would mind me calling her of average build!)
