MINI owners meet in Falmouth

Was in Falmouth at the weekend and saw a sign in the Quiksilver shop advertising a MINI meet on the 15th June in Falmouth at Discovery Square (think that's the bit outside the maritime museum/ Pizza Express). Was just wondering if anyone on here was planning on attending? Know there are a few Cornish owners on here. Maybe even someone on holiday in the area who might be there. Think I may swing by and take a look.

I've spoken with Tigger who has told me that unfortunately the Sunday activities down in Falmouth have been cancelled.

HOWEVER!! The main run and fun and games on the Saturday IS going ahead and starts in St. Agnes. There will be loads of peeps there so hopefully see you guys there!

And the Kernow website seemed to have a slight paddy earlier, but it is now working fine and so are the forums!

Hi all, as Mini Poser says we have quite a bit of interest in this run so far, but there is always room for more, especially as we had to call off the Falmouth Meeting mainly for lack of numbers.

This has been replaced by another run on the Sunday though up to Plymouth for more ice cream so all has not been lost - and there is a whole bunch of fun stuff planned for the big, round Cornwall run on the Saturday.

I have included the information from our web site below for you to have a look at, and if you would like to take part either sign up at newminikernow.co.uk or let me know here and we can give you the details.

We are really looking forward to this run and it promises to be a good one - see you there

New Mini Kernow Oggy Run, 13th to 15th June 2008 in support of the RNLI
Following on from the great success of a previous run that many of us were involved in in 2005, New MINI Kernow are hoping to host an even bigger and better event during the summer of 2008. We would like to extend an invitation to New MINI Severns, South Coast New MINI, East *Coast MINI and any other MINI owner that fancies a summer weekend in Cornwall


Please put any contributions for plans and ideas below and we'll see what we can come up with!
Emz, bish and Selina are already talking about routes and places to stay.....

24/10/07 Update:
This run is now in support of the RNLI
The plan will be as follows:
Friday night:
* Meet and greet at Beacon Cottage Farm Touring Park in St Agnes from 3pm onwards.
* Fish and chip run to St Agnes.
Saturday from 10am:
* All day run, following a west of county coastal road which takes us through some spectacular scenery and magical driving roads, with a lunch stop at Roskilly's, famous for its pasty’s and ice cream. Trip to end at a tourist attraction in Falmouth, then finishing at Char and Jerry's house for a small party.
Sunday:
* Drive through the east of Cornwall and across to Plymouth on the Torpoint ferry, finishing up at Langage Farm (very close to the main road leading out of the West Country) where the ice cream is rumoured to be as good as Roskilly’s.

Nicky, congratulations for successfully registering on NewMiniKernow - as you can see we are gathering a fair amount of interest now, so this should be a great couple of runs.

Would it be possible to move this thread to the Confirmed Events section and rename it the 'New MINI Kernow Oggy Run 13th - 15th June'? please. I'm relatively new to MINI2 and not sure how you would do this.....

7/6/08 Update! The newly revised plans are as follows:

Friday night:

* Arrive at campsite / B&B and hotel etc.

* 6.30pm at the campsite. For all of those who are able to join us in time, there will be a small run to The Watering Hole at Perranporth for dinner

Saturday from 9.30am:

* To make everyone's trip back home a little easier, starting at 9.00am, we'll be doing a run on Sunday morning that will head back up to Devon It will end very close to the main road leading out of the West Country.

We'll be taking in both car ferries at Fowey and Torpoint (total cost around £3.70 per MINI), a trip to the relaxing bay of Talland (where Richard and Judy have a home), past Looe, where we say goodbye to Joanne, and onwards to Rame with the causeway at St John (tide allowing).

Our last stop will be at at Langage Farm where the ice cream is rumoured to be as good as Roskilly’s

THERE WILL BE A RAFFLE IN AID OF THE RNLI. THE RAFFLE WILL ONLY BE OPEN TO THOSE ON THE TRIP AND THERE ARE PRIZES TOTALLING AROUND £250 IN VALUE!!! :shock: THERE IS EVEN A BRAND NEW PROFESSIONAL QUALITY TWO WAY RADIO (NOT THE USUAL ARGOS AND INTERNET SPECIALS WE ALL NORMALLY USE! :roll: :: ). THAT'S WORTH OVER £100 ON ITS OWN :shock:
