NMC/DMR Illuminations Run - Saturday 18 October

Hi All,

Nottinghamshire MINI Club and Doncaster MINI Register are jointly planning another Illuminations Run for Saturday 18 October.

The run will start at Ferrybridge Services and will take in some of the best roads between there and Blackpool where we will run through the lights (in our cars of course ).

If your interested in attending, post below.

Run notes to be added this week!

Deano
on behalf of NMC and DMR

Dean, how long are you planning to allow for get through? I was told it would take a good few hours to do the full end to end run.

Are you heading for South Beach Car park as last year? the traffic will be horrendous, I live 500yds from the prom and Squires Gate lane, its like that every Friday and Saturday from October until the lights end.

Good Luck

Yep - if you hit the start at Starr Gate you should be prepared to allow yourself anything up to 3 hrs to get to the end at Bispham. Two hours should do it though.

Planning to get to Blackpool about 3ish and drive the lights from about 5pm, takes us as long as it takes us, but 2hrs seems a fair bet!

If you did it the other way round, thats starting from Red Bank rd in Bispham, the traffic would be miles quieter, as most do it south to north and either disperse or return back the same way they came.

This way you'll have done all the hard navigation getting to Bispham, and the finish point would take you straight back onto the M55 motorway. Just an Idea!!!

We could let you know the easiest route there, once you hit the Fylde coast. Believe me it would be a lot less stress.

You might even see Steve heading off to the roundabout at Gynn Square and come back the other way too - he does that a lot .

He's easy to spot - has a great big grin on his face when he's doing it - listen out for the horn too, another giveway .
