The Goodwood Park hotel is REALLY not cheap & if you're wanting to join the convoy it kinda defeats the object of driving back to Chichester to then drive back to Goodwood. If you want cheap then the Travelodge at Fontwell is cheap but then you're stuck with a Burger King & not a lot else. There's always the Chichester Park Hotel which is right next to where we're meeting & is quite reasonable I believe. There's also the new Innkeepers Lodge next to Fontwell Racecourse which I believe is nice & has a nice pub attached. If you're after a bit of nightlife, restaurants, close to town etc...then the Premier Travel Inn at Chichester Gate is really good. It's sat in the middle of about 1/2 dozen restaurants, cinema, bowling alley & a bar/club that is open until 1ish

That should give you enough to go on

Thanks Maffa.

I'm going to try and fit a rally driving experience at brands hatch into the same weekend. Hopefully everything will work out with that.

I'll have a look at the goodwood park prices asap. It's good to know there's plenty of accomodation options.

This sounds like a fantastic day and would love to be a part of this. I live in brighton so not too far for me to travel. Would it be ok if i was to join the "convoy" heading to the circuit?

I could be a tentative - need to go home and see if there are any other plans on the calendar I don't know about.

Does anyone know if (like some of the other shows) you need to stay until noon before you would be able to leave (if in the front/circuit car park)?

Not sure. I've been to the supercar one before & cars left before that as they were parked up with plenty of room to move. My guess is that it depends on the turnout but then the track is used so they won't cram them in.

It looks like I should be able to get to Goodwood

I was bought a rally driving experience for Crimbo and they've got space on the 28th Feb. I'm thinking of booking for that, staying over somewhere and then going to Goodwood on the 1st.

Are people meeting up at the event itself or somewhere else and then driving in convoy?

Also, what are the chances of us getting our MINIs parked up on the track... is it first come, first served or pre-arranged?

W44NE G that's crackin' news

In the 1st post it shows the details of the convoy as it stands so far with 11 cars meeting in Chichester at 8am. Details of this might change depending on the response I get from the Breakfast Club organisers. I have asked them if:
  1. We can get our cars on show?
  2. What time we should get there if we can?

I'll keep you posted

Great stuff

Sorry... was too lazy to read back to the first post . I'll book Brands Hatch tomorrow and try and find a Marriott near Goodwood (can get a cheap-ish rate hopefully).

You're doing Brands? You should come down the week before as i'm doing a track day at Brands on 20th & then the Breakfast run on 22nd

Hey Maffa... any news on the Goodwood event? I would have come for the 22nd but it's a bit late notice with a couple of things.

I think I can book a 9.30am slot on the 28th for Brands which would give us the rest of the day down south to see family etc. Then we'd stay in a hotel and get up for Goodwood in the morning.

Just wondered if you'd heard back from them about getting ours cars on the track etc?

I did PM you but didn't realise my settings were all wrong so I probably couldn't receive one back. I've changed those now

Hello fella. Yes I did PM you back

I mailed the cooked@goodwood.co.uk e-mail address with the following questions:
  1. Will we be able to get our cars parked up to show them off?
  2. If so what time should we arrive at? We will be organising a convoy so that we will all arrive together.

That was on Monday evening & I have yet to hear back but i've just mailed the same questions via the Enquiry form so hopefully i'll hear something soon

Cheers

MAFFA

Response from Goodwood

Just got the following response:

Matt,

As your cars will all be part of the theme for the event, yes you will be able to park them to show them off. I would expect you would be in the Paddock areas, however, we are expecting this event to be popular, so I would recommend you arrive early, 8am ish, and do come in convoy, so that you are all parked near to each other.

We look forward to seeing you on the 1st March

Kind Regards

Katie

I have therefore updated the meeting time on the 1st post to 7:30am based on her recommendation to get there by 8am

Cheers guys & look forward to seeing you all on 1st March

MAFFA
