Offline | who's been invited to the Motor Show by Mini? According to this weeks Auto Express, 40,000 mini owners have been "invited" to the Motor Show! I'm not one of them, anyone else not been invited, or invited even? |

Offline | I've not been invited either. Maybe it got lost in the post. Our postman did get the sack for interfering with the mail... Anyway, I'll be going on Friday too. I'm going to take my keys and the letter that came with the welcome pack with my chassis number and MINI emergency service number etc. on and try and blag my way in... ![]() |

Offline | Well, I got in ok and dodged the massive queues for the none MINI owners, plus got a prime spot for the show dead in the middle (at the side, not right in the middle, obviously)! I just had to show them my keys and tell them my name and registration. Only problem was, the MINI shop wouldn't let me have the (10% I think) discount for MINI owners because I didn't have the special voucher which I should also have got with the backstage pass and invitation. I bought one of those cool official radio control Coopers, so the 10% would have come in pretty handy! Anyone got any ideas who I should contact at MINI UK to try and get them to give me a refund of that 10% ? Gotta be worth a try at least, right? PM me with any suggestions please! The Motor Show was pretty good, by the way. A lot more new cars there than last time I went to one. Plus the MINI Live stunt show was amazing and well worth the trip (even if the M6 was so packed that it took me 4 hours to get home afterwards! ). Russ Swift was (and is!) brilliant. ![]() |

Offline | MINI show was fantastic. I didn't get to see Russ and his crew at the Rockingham 500 this year so it was nice to be able to see them do there stuff at the NEC. I went to the 10:30 show and the public area was packed. Monkeyboy - You could try and write to the MINI marketing department asking for your 10% back as they were the ones who sent the vouchers out to all (well most) of the MINI owners. Good luck! |

Offline | Hey! I was in the 10:30 one too! I was standing in the middle next to an old bloke with a beard and glasses (that's my Dad). I was going to go again later in the day, but his little legs were worn out from all the walking (and running to get to the 10:30 show just after we arrived), so we had to go home instead. Still, I managed to see everything I wanted too, but I somehow missed the Peugeot RC Spades and Diamonds concepts, which I was looking forward to seeing. Maybe the dancing laydees from the 206 GTI show distracted me when I was around their stand... ![]() |

Offline | I was at the back by the door wearing a black suit. I don't normally get dressed up for these sort of things but I was attending a lunch with Motor Industry Public Affairs Association. Mark Webber (Aussie F1 driver) was the guest speaker talking about his year and how boring F1 has become. I nearly suggested he watches a few MINI races to see how overtaking is done. The best bit about the lunch was the fact I got to sit next to Paddy Hopkirk and talk about his Cooper S (his '60's rally car and his new MINI)! I was also intending to go back for another look at the MINI adventure show but didn't find the time. |

Offline | I walked right past you on the way out. You did kind of stand out in the MINI enclosure wearing a suit Do you know where I could find the address or phone number for the MINI marketing dept? Cheers. ![]() |
