I'm in Newton Abbot area, where are you? I don't know if there are any new mini clubs in this area but I'm a member of West of England Mini club with my classic mini.

Good question . I'm in the very east of east Devon and haven't come across any yet, but would love to know if there are any. Perhaps, if there is enough interest we could at least have a meet down this way.

Well that good news. I was beginning to get lonely down here

I do know that there is a North Devon Mini Owners Club but as I live about 8 miles from Tiverton (M5 Junction 27), it doesn't really class me as North Devon.

I like the idea of a South-West New Mini Owners Club.

So where in the far-east do you live IanB? That's not bad though, South East and East Devon. Anyone from further afield?

Sounds like a good idea to have our own meet down here. If we were to announce a South-West new mini meet down here, i reckon it would draw in more interest, What do you think?

Hi,

Tried to arouse some interest in Dorset - without success. However, will keep an eye open for you guys. Nice part of the world. Good luck.

I'm near Seaton so am quite used to having to travel to get anything

It might be worth trying a meet down here. The nearest I have heard of so far is Bristol. I have seen others post from the Taunton area and from Cornwall so something in Devon may also interest them. Perhaps a spring event might encourage more owners to come and enjoy our roads.

I'm in Sidmouth (retirement capital of the world) and I believe Bigahead is in the Taunton area, not a million miles away

Technically my MINI will be a South-West Mini as it will be registered in Plymouth, however I have just moved up to Cheltenham!

However, if you decide to meet up for runs I will still be interested as it's not to far to travel and I can stay at the parents if needed

Ah I can't wait for the delights of my MINI getting it's first 'adventure' running around Dartmoor! Me and my mini avoid sheep at high speeds!

I'm in west Cornwall, so miles from anywhere!! A south-west owners club would be nice, so would a south-west meet so other people can enjoy the scenery and enjoy our bendy roads
Kernowrob - which bit of Cornwall are you in? Are you getting your MINI from Ocean Falmouth?? New MINI owners are still a rarity down here!

Sounds good guys. I think that we're onto a winner here.

I can't understand why a mini club would ban new minis, after all it is the re-incarnation of an old classic. I suppose you will always have purists who don't like to embrace new ideas (I bet that'll stir up a hornets nest of replies).

Well how about a first meeting sometime at the end of February then, just to get something down on the cards. That way we will be able to see exactly how much interest there is. Then the possibility of a South-West Mini Club would be easily visulaised. It allows Rob to get his Mini Just need to choose a venue. Any suggestions?

Stu

By the way Ian, I do like that banner you have on your posts. Which seafront is that?

Anywhere near St Ives ? - My favourite place - try to get down there a few times every year for a break.
I went there last October when my Mini was only a few weeks old and had my valve caps nicked - it won't put me off going again though

ianB - Checked out your website - dont worry I had a TR7 too !
