| SHROPSHIRE MINI RUN -Sun 28th Sept 2003- PICTURES NOW POSTED Myself & Schapman will be organising a MINI run around Shropshire on Sunday 28th September 2003. Gathering from 9:00AM for a 10:00AM Start. The Start point will be the DAYS INN Services at J4 of the M54, & it will Finish with all MINI`s in the Follies area of HAWKSTONE PARK for a B.B.Q. at a Specially arranged cost of £5- per person + £1- per car entrance fee -Payable on the Day. Vegetarian Meals can be provided if they know in Advance -Please Let Me Know. {I am sorry about the Entrance fee but it normally costs £5.50 just to get in & was the best deal that could be negotiated} Could all those wishing to Participate please Post your names below together with the number of Passengers {If just 2 of you in the Car please put "YourUserName" +1} & could you also please email me at restyle@hotmail.com with your name/s. More Details {including Route Plans} will Follow . -NOW AVAILABLE BELOW (17th sept) ThIs Run will be Limited to 30 MINI`s {see Post # 64} Please make sure you read this RUN & Equitette Thread before Attending. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STOP PRESS : CORRECTIONS, CLARIFICATIONS & COMMENTS Corrections A couple of Errors on Page 3 of the Pace Notes have been found; -The 1st Distance Stepped Milage should read 4.4 & NOT 3.4 miles. -A few lines further Down Please DELETE the Line > 1.2 ..... Entering Cross Houses < (which was one of our initial "reminder" notes), & can easily cause confusion . An Amended PAGE 3 has now been Uploaded {Will say Amended at top of sheet} Clarifications The Bane of this Run, In terms of how many times we have Driven it in an attempt to describe Better; - Is the Mini Roundabout Cluster at Bridgnorth {PAGE.1}, All 3 occurring within A Hundred Yards of each other. Please PRINT this Diagram to save any Possible Confusion. Comments Parking Charges As Already Mentioned, There are a couple of places where we have negotiated a Reduced Rate, £1- per MINI Parking Fee; - Attingham Park, & -Hawkstone Park. In order for things to run as smoothly as possible, we would prefer if Everyone was to pre-pay these fees to schapman as soon as possible, preferably at J4, or if not, whenever possible so that He is able to pay for the Convoy as a Group as soon as we enter that Location. In the same way, We would Like everyone to Pre-pay for the £5- per Head BBQ at Hawkstone Park whenever possible. Please make yourself known to either myself or schapman at J4, [We`re the ones with the BRIGHT GREEN Organisers Badges, to enable us to amend the Names List as we will have to phone Hawkstone Park to inform them of EXACT number of People to cater for {they only have a guide figure at the moment} Junction 4 Services At the Start of the Convoy at J4, We will be giving Everyone listed Below, an easy-to-remove Vinyl Stick-On label, Printed with their Username in White Letters, to place on the outside edge of their Rear Window. This proved a very effective means of identification on the recent Yorkshire Run. Just picked them up from Printers - WOW!!! - A collectors Item for Sure ![]() The Services at J4 Does Have Shell Optimax If you`ve Never tried it out before in your MINI, Today would seem an Ideal time to Give it a Treat. The Layout, & Where we`ll try & Park up at the Services, can be seen Here:- Ironbridge The 1st Regroup point is a "Pay & Display" (P&D), CarPark (CP), adjacent to the Famous IronBridge, (Closed to traffic), & an ideal opportunity to quickly walk onto the Bridge for some Shots of the Town & River Seven Beneath. We have NEVER encountered any "Windscreen-Wardens" at this point on Sundays, But nevertheless, be Aware. Church Stretton Carding Mill Valley at Church Stretton also has a P&D CP, but having spoken to the National Trust People there, we should be OK to use the Facilities as long as we are Quickish. I would advise people to drive to the End of the Valley, (over a small Ford), if they cant initially find a CP place near to the Centrally located Facilities Building, as there are usually plenty at the far end - and its a Great View. It is Very Important that we do a Staggered Start over a period of at least 10 minutes when leaving Carding Mill Valley to Head on up "The Burway" -A Single Lane Road up a Steep hill with Limited Passing places for those vehicles coming Down. We will regroup by parking together on the Grass Verge at the top, at a point overlooking the Gliding School. -Another great Photo -Op. We must then do a further "10 minute staggered start" when Descending a Nice 4:1 Single Lane Road on the other side of the Mountain. -All Good Fun- Attingham Park They will be informed of our Approach around 10 minutes before the Lead Car, {schapman} arrives, & will guide us onto our own seperate Area. Please ensure that the £1- Parking Fee has been paid to schapman. RAF Cosford Aerospace Museum They have been informed of our arrival, & No special parking arrangements necessary, -BUT Please Refer to Pace Notes. You may be required to give your Postcode & Name if entering the Facilities Building, & be aware they have Powers of Search for Security Requirements. Moreton Corbett Castle The Parking may be a little crowded on the verge, But this is mainly a Last Regroup Area for the Final Convoy into Hawkstone Park. Hawkstone Park Drive straight up the Hill towards the Gatehouse, even if the Main gate has a Closed Sign on it. They ARE expecting us, and we will we guided down the drive to the Follies Area for Parking. Please ensure you have already paid schapman Parking & BBQ Money. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LIST OF THOSE ATTENDING SO FAR Please Check that I`ve now got everyones Name / Passenger # / & Meal type Correct 1/ Restyle +1 2/ schapman +1 3/ Nibs +1 4/ Naughty Magpie +1 5/ wobert123 6/ Buffy +1 7/ Jules 8/ Mini Chris +1 9/ RCC +1 10/ PaulMason +1 11/ 12/ Wychall +1 14/ NuVoix + 1 {2*Vegetarian meals} 15/ M.2 +1 16/ Minibee +1 17/ StevePSB {1*Vegetarian Meal} 18/ miniminor +1 19/ RedMini {his} 20/ RedMini {hers} 21/ BeanyBoy 22/ Mini2mad +1 23/ Crazy Kim +1 24/ ScottyG +1 25/ interceptor +1 26/ BRG MC 27/ ZYO +2 28/ Monte2 +1 Provisional SteveBrass NEW IMPROVED RESOLUTION PACE NOTES & ROUTE MAP NOW POSTED Simply CLICK on EACH of These PAGES Below PAGE 1 .PAGE 2 .PAGE 3 .PAGE 4 .PAGE 5 .MAP+INFO OR PDF Of All Pages Thanks to Mini Chris and All at Leicestermini.com for Hosting the pdf File (Acrobat Reader Required) Simply Click & Save to File each image when it Opens. | Hi Tony, The way we looked at it was that we were always likely to clash with something & as long as it wasn`t clashing with another Run in the Midlands then we may as well go for it. The Coast to Coast run is limited to 30 cars, & covers a more Northerly region than Shropshire. Sorry you won`t be able to make it this time around, but I`ll see you on the Yorks` Dales run on 7th Sept. ![]() Last edited by Restyle; Aug 26th, 2003 at 08:44 PM. |

I think you mean the Vineyards Show, Buffy. We were there with our Silver/Black Cooper done up as a James Bond car on the British Mini Club Stand - Shropshire Branch. Which was your car? Black & Chrome MCC. It's a MINI Jim - but not as we know it!

Shropshire Run Restyle Heard from Jules yesterday, he would like to be included on the Run if you could add him onto the list. Black & Chrome MCC. It's a MINI Jim - but not as we know it!

Met him on Sunday at Bobbington, He`s sure puts on some milage on his MCS, Tell Him He`s On as I Dont think He`s got Internet access. Where are all the other People from in & around Shropshire who have been asking for a MINI Run like this in the area all year?. We need more Participants to make this more of a Fun-Run. If you`ve never been on a MINI Run before, be assured that it isn`t a Race & there are No prizes for being at the Front of the Pack. Actually its often more reassuring being Behind other MINI`s, as you can then Blame them if you are Led into a Field due to the Pace notes being Wrong or Misinterpretted. You`ll get to meet Like-Minded People, see how every MINI has a Different Personality, & See Confused Villagers trying to work out the Odds on "That many MINI`s" passing their House, ( before reaching for their "Angry Waving Stick" ) Just Email me if you`ve any Queries :- restyle@hotmail.com ![]()

Went out with my wife yesterday (Saturday) to test out the route, make adjustments, modifications etc. It's a great route, long A road stretches, very narrow twisty sections, 3 fords to go through, 1 in 4 up, 1 in 4 down, 2 very nice short break points to stop at and a great final stop point with Bar-B-Q. If the weather is with us on the day it will be great! Come on people, get your names down, we're looking for a minimum of 12 to 15 MINIs. Should be an enjoyable Autumn drive around Shropshire. Black & Chrome MCC. It's a MINI Jim - but not as we know it!

Shropshire MINI Run At the moment it looks to be about 125 miles, but we are looking to try and trim off a few of these. But if it's mainly relatively local people who are coming on the run, they won't have to do too many miles to get here and then return home after so it won't be too long a day. Black & Chrome MCC. It's a MINI Jim - but not as we know it!

Hi There Can you please put my name down for the run and BBQ. I will be comeing over from Leicester in my Mini One. I will see if any other local members want to come. Thanks Mini Chris Leicester
