I took my mini home to meet the parents at the weekend so drove the gauntlet from East London to Devon.

Can I just say how friendly and enthusiastic the Devonshire (Plymouth in particular) MINI owners are compared to their capital counterparts...? I was flashed at (not naughtily!), waved at, hooted at and got masses of thumbs up from other drivers. I might be foolish but you get a great buzz knowing that other people love their MINIs as much as you, and when that is communicated from car to car it can't fail to bring a smile to your lips.

When you have a car which generates the sort of interest and affection that MINI has, surely you should milk that?!

Why do I not get the same, in fact ANY reaction from London drivers?

MINIs aren't difficult to spot to I'm guessing that it's ignorance - anyone else feel the same?!

London = W*nkers, I lived there for the first 22 years of my life. Pleased to say that we're not all like that.

I think in London the MINI is more of a fashion accessory than a car

I am due to get my Cooper in November and have already booked the inevitable visit back to the folks in Devon.....I hope MINI drivers are as friendly to us!!!!! Maybe there are less MINI's around in the SW..........I don't know about that but spotting MINI's is definately good fun......some days you don't see any then...other days they are everywhere....!!!
