Hmmmmm... You generalise, methinks.

I don't really 'do' South (although I do live far too 'south' for my liking!) so can't really comment.

I much prefer it when I'm 'north'.

Doncaster is North, Bedworth is (too) South and I have the misfortune to live in the Bedworth neck of the woods.

Mental note to self *must move back to Doncaster*

I'm in Doncaster as often as I can be though.

Half of everyone drives with their rear fog light on (just in case it gets foggy less than 100m) and goodness knows it is November so that’ll do nicely then to be goin on with in Yorkshire.

All MINI owners are women (including MCS)

Aye oop north we have to do that as the fog (smog in teesside) can drop at any second... plus were not that used to electrickery up here !! ....

I must admit there are an awful lot more women Mini drivers up here, and a lovely girl called Lisa who lives near me has virtually the same spec MCS as me... they rarely flash (ahem !)... tend to only get acknowledged by MCS's....

agree with most of your points there max. all lights on all the time is becoming the norm. i usually let them past & then melt their retinas with a blast of my osram super full beams & spots childish i know but it gets the message across.

the speed thing is just jealousy on your part 'cos we still have stretches of road that are traffic & camera free

south of the river aire = the south

Bloody hell, I just knew there was some tarmac beyond Watford, we had heard tales from people that there could even be some driveable tracks as far north as Carlisle. )is that far from Watford?

Also loved the TVR bit from Max, My bro in law has one and its ..........................broken, when its not broken its just been fixed, or its just about to break again. He's selling it for £30grand (he'll be lucky)

If you are driving at 85 mph on any M-Way or Dual Carriageway this is too slow. At 120 mph you have a line of traffic behind you in the outside lane.

All MINI owners are women (including MCS)

At the White Swan Inn at Wighill (near Tadcaster) I met the guy who runs the Yorkshire TVR Club, and saw a range of 22 TVRs lined up in the pub car park:

“Eh up, We don’t do runs lad”, says the organiser “We just meet up at a pub twice a month, drink some serious ale and gloat at are paintwork, oh arr”

“So don’t u do a convoy or owt like that then?” says Max.

“No” he says, “we daren’t risk them breaking down. About half of our membership don’t make it to the pub selected – frankly it’s a freakin miracle that we had 22 cars here today….”

I can explain.......some bits anyway

the foglights well I have no idea, especialy when they just use their sidelights with them

Theres only about 4 of us (men that is) with minis up here

As for the motorway!! u have a Cooper S for a reason, now at 120 u shud have another good 20 mph so u shud be fine

and for the TVR's......remember the nearest pub is only 30secs away (up here) so u ring RAC then go for a pint........they were designed for that!!

see thats how it shud be!!

That 'that's nothing' is nothing.

In the village of Headley in Surrey there is a pub called 'The Cock Inn'

Which just happens to be next to a church. (Out the church, into the pub - very sociable)
It happens that the church is called 'The Church of the Holy Virgin Mary'

Rumour has it that they do a good 'vicars & tarts' evening in Headley.

I agree this is very annoying but I not sure its just an "up north" problem. I'm sure I first noticed it down south. It probably started at a cruise in Southend or somewhere like that where all the Max Power brigade decided it looked "cool" to drive about with side lights + fogs
