As the nights draw in we have to consider how we should approach the tradtional Mini2 trip to the ring

After talking to the RingMeister Steve (of S&M) some thoughts cross our minds

- ring trip is a given
- some time in france for R&R or other suitable country rather than the mad drive

thoughts are UP IN THE AIR (pending who is going/whats it combined with)

Anyway I am up for organzing the groups who wish to go; the most important thing is numbers; time that people can take and when people are free

So I expect the folllowing suspects;

Sheesh, next year is looking pretty hectic so I'd suggest later in the year to avoid Round Britain, etc,etc.

As always peeps, remember, the Ring has produced two MINI casualties in two trips (one bad, the other slight).

If you go, treat the track with respect, keep to your limits and you will have the best time legally possible!

That said, the more trips I can get in to the Ring next year the better

OK.....I've spoken to wifey.......she says I can go, as long as she can go to Center Parcs.......so it looks like I'm a high probable for this trip.....providing the dates are right, as I'm restricted on holidays....don't mind a blast over, on a long weekend....at the end of the day, it's 1500 miles there and back, and TBH I'd rather get the journey done in one hit each way.

From the trip in October, I reckon the An der Nord is the better bet as it's closer to the 'Ring, and being in Adenau, it also has some life (albeit minor!). That pizza parlour took some beating, esp, the barmaid on the first nite!

I can also vouch for the quality of the shreddies that are available in the local supermarket too......after forgetting mine last time, as I announced at dinner one evening!

Let's hope this trip is incident free!

Having checked the calendar, the only thing going on during April & May is the "Round Britain Run" from the 29th April thru 3rd May. Other than that nowt else is booked at the mo!

I automatically get the 12th/13th April for Easter, so tacking days onto that to make longer is good use of the spare days I get.....only thing is.....if you travel Easter w/end the cost will go up. How's about mid week that week as a starter for 10, to get a decent deal on ferries.

Other than that, the same format as last time seemed to work well.....travel Friday....Sat/Sun at the Ring.....then travel back Monday?

Also given S&M's very sensible comments about the unfortunate accidents which we have had in the past want to get a feel for numbers and how people would like it to be handled.

So feel free to come up with suggestions

ok i have spoke to eddy the owner of the hotel in adneaul, april 24th to april 28th is a possibility

with an itenery something like this

sat-leave uk
sun-hang out at the ring and book some ring taxi laps
mon-drive ring ourselves
tues-more driving ring or tourist stuff
weds-travel back to uk

peoples thoughts would be much welcome.eddy the hotel guy is going to book ring taxi for me,so peeps who are intrested i need to know ASAP.the cost for taxi is £20 per person.as soon as 2004 dates are published for 2004 the ring taxi will be fully booked.
also i hope to have some details of track insurance for the ring soon.
