Factory visit I have arranged a factory visit to Cowley on Friday 12 th March 2004. The time is still to be confirmed on Monday (5th) when they return from their xmas break but I have asked for the 12.45 tour as opposed to the 9AM to give everyone a chance to get there easily. It is limited to 30 people and I have 16 booked so far. They have stated that there may be a small fee for the visit. The full list is on this thread: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...9&page=1&pp=15 Please add your interest there. Come and join us! | Just a quick note to let you all know the factory tour has been confirmed for Friday 12th March @ 12.45. I will keep you all posted with more updates as I get them - so far I have 14 names so still 16 places left to fill. Paul Last edited by minisoopercooper; Jan 6th, 2004 at 06:07 PM. |

| I think you mean 12th March... 12th Jan is a Monday. How do you contact the factory to get on a tour. I'm over here in the UK for a short while and I'd like to go on a tour but I have nothing planned yet. Are they open all year...? I'm sure iancull posted the phone number 01865 824000 as the contact number but I rang that and no-one answered. I can't find anything about tours on the mini.co.uk web pages, only the video link. If anyone can tell me how to get on a tour, I'd be very grateful. Thanks..!! ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else. |

| Thanks for that. I did look in the FAQ and found the email address. They just emailed me and told me that they were closed from Oct to March and that a lot of tours from March to June were already booked up..! I can see this is something that takes planning..!! ![]() I'm near Cambridge and I'm only here a couple of weeks, so it won't happen this trip. They are sending me the virtual tour on CDROM though. ![]() Religion is like a huge dog. If it's yours it's very friendly and comforting, but it scares the heck out of everyone else. |

dont think theres much more to add to this at the mo with regard to information. when i spoke to PAUL minisoopercooper on sunday, he was going to confirm this week (which he has). further information will follow as and when. things like meetup location / pubs etc. given its a friday folks might want to make an evening of it and be requiring accomodation (if the beer flows too well) so please continue to post on this thread and ideas / questions regarding the factory tour. |

| Hi I have corrected my little slip up - it is March and not Jan. As for a pub visit after thats cool with me but may be driving on up to Toddington near MK after to stay with friends. Sure we can sort that bit out a later date. I did read an article that Janspeed or one of the major tuning upgrade companies is baded in Bicester - very close to Oxford so maybe I could call then and see if we could pop in there to see what they are up to. Let me know what you think. Paul |

| Bicester is the home of AMD Technik, the OneClick people, and is about 20 minutes from Cowley. It's not unpleasant or anything, it's just that I can't think that you would visit Bicester for any other reason. Oh yes I can, Bicester Village if you like Factory Outlet stores. Oxford, and more specifically its environs has a few good bars/diners. The Trout Inn where Inspector Morse used to take the occasional pint, or perhaps a canalside pub a little north of the city, spring immediately to mind. |

| Cheers for that - I only had a hazy memory of who was there after reading the big tuning article at work today. I have been to Bicester village and its ok although I only usually stop there for Tescos on my way to MK! I will suss out the pub thing but it will have to have a fairly big car park for us lot - 40 people could = 20+ MINI's. Any advice is gratefully recieved Harpo! Cheers Paul |
