England Trackday at Croft (North Yorkshire) - Part Deux (2) 1st July 04

Hello people,

Approached Croft circuit (North Yorkshire) about organising the 2nd track day after last year’s successful day for us Mini2 people and guests, the open pit lane last year seemed to work quite well with 20 mini’s and several other cars to compare against so we’ll keep the same.
But hopefully this years event will be much bigger, available to all Mini2’ers and friends other cars welcome.

The day will be sponsored by "Robertshaw Racing" which is owned by Mini2 member "robertshawracing" , who is kindly going to handle track hire payments for this event.

When?

Date confirmed as 1st July 2004 (Thursday)

How do I book/What to do next?

As mentioned above Gary Robertshaw of "Robertshaw Racing" www.robertshawracing.com has kindly offered to handle payments of deposits over the phone via credit/debit card, the remainder of costs to be settled on the day at croft.

A deposit of £40 is required before June please,
"Robertshaw Racing" can be contacted on: 0191 5360064 - Quoting: "MINI2.com Croft Trackday 1st July", who will take your name, address, payment details, Mini2 Name.- OR pay online via website (select Trackdays, then add to basket)click here

Costs/What's included?

We will have full use of the circuit and pits from 9.30am – 5.00pm (1hr Lunch break)
Included in the day will be a Chief Instructor (with his own Race prepared MCS!) who will keep an eye on us throughout the day.
After a full safety briefing will take us around the circuit all in convoy to get to know the track for number of laps, and we have full use of Chief Instructor throughout the day so anyone who would like an instructor in their own car with them for a bit of tuition is welcome.
All drivers must hold a current valid licence to drive on the public highway in the UK or MSA/FIA approved competition licence.
The cost will depend on how many people take part - MAX cost will be £150.
eg: 30 cars will be £150 each, over 30 it starts to get cheaper.

*Important* - Insurance Details

The organisers are in no way responsible for individual’s actions on track, as the day is intended to be a friendly Non-Competitive meeting of MINI2 owners and friends, a chance to really test the car out on a challenging circuit without worry of speed limits / Police in a very safe environment, whether it’s a MINI ONE or a tuned 200+bhp MCS.
Your current insurance will NOT cover you while on the circuit as most of you will know, it is up to the individual whether they take their own insurance, it is recommended that you contact your own insurance company and ask to add to the policy for a day.
As it stands Croft circuit you really have to be pushing very very hard to come off the track, which I very much doubt any of us will, and is good in the fact it has a lot flat run off areas which are either grass or shallow gravel if you do.
A helmet must be worn on track so you can either bring your own or rent one for £5 fee on the day (£30 returnable deposit)

How to get there / Accommodation?

Details of how to get to Croft Circuit and local accommodation can be found on the main official Croft Circuit website www.croftcircuit.co.uk

*Update* 25.02.04
And finally Gary (RobertshawRacing) has agreed to bring 2 of his John Cooper challenge Race spec cars MCS + MC(which he is taking part in this year) for people to drive on the day with a bit of race tuition from himself, costs on this will be £50 per session approx 30mins but will be available to both peeps taking part in trackday and all who attend. If interested in this email: croft2004@robertshawracing.com to book.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

*UPDATE* 09.06.04

Just another call for all the people who orginally expressed an interest in this event, or those who have been thinking about it - Well now is the time to commit by paying your deposits all details are above.
Ask around your friends who you think might be interested, regardless of car same price per car.
Gary at Robertshaw Racing will shortly have to pay the deposit for circuit hire to Croft(next week!!!)..........WE ARE STILL TAKING DEPOSITS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Hope thats everything - any questions just ask.

The 1st sounds great if there are any places left. How do I book a place on the day and how much is it?

Sounds good to me. Depending on price, date and my shift arrangements! Have to justify that £237 extra I'm spending on the trackday insurance somehow!

It was acceptable in the 80's

I'm up for it! Any date would be great for me as long as it is an afternoon start as I work nights. Monday would probably be the best day.
