New MINI Severns Saturday night drinks, run and meeting Satuday 27th March 2004
As you may know we are starting up a local club for the MINI in the South West. To get things going officially we all need to meet up and get the ball rolling. All those who came on the Gaydon trip are well aware of whats going on and I have text everyone I have numbers for to invite them to this meeting. The club is intended for anyone living in Avon (as was), Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire (mainly west for those not in the SCNMC) and the Newport Gwent area of Wales - Thinking of calling the club The New MINI Severns Club so its for anyone who lives near the river Severn!
Basically it's an excuse to get together and have a natter about MINI's and while there we can decide on a name for the club and roles etc for those who want to be involved. Of course this is to support MINI2 members in our area and not detract from MINI2 in anyway!
If anyone is interested in a short run before hand I am sure I can arrange this.
The meeting will be at the Compass Inn which is just off junction 18 of the M4. If you take the Stroud road (A46) from the motorway and then the immediate right turn signposted Tormarton the pub is just a few hundred yards on the right - clearly visible from the A46.
The time of the meeting will be 7.30pm with a possible meeting time of 6pm if a run is required - all comments welcome.
Please come along and support us - and sign up on this thread.

I think that there should definitely be a short run before the pub session, as it adds to the fun and theres more of a likelihood of other clubs (like SCNMC) coming along to provide support.

it would only be local and take in places like Castle Combe Village where the original Doctor Doolittle was filmed as well as such other "memorable" things like Noels christmas presents. Very pictursque etc.
Ruth and I are off to Prague this week but will be at the pub as long a flights on time. I will send you a text Paul if any problems but otherwise looking forward to it. Tom
I can meet up with you enroute but think meeting at Cribs on a Saturday while the shops are still open is suicide!
we could try a rolling meet if someone rings me. Maybe I could wait in the Gordano services and then when your about to jump on the bridge I'll set off and hopefully we will join up at the same time.
Did the run yesterday - as I said its only short but full of great twisties and open country roads plus loads of nice villages etc. including one called Tiddlywink!
