Last Minute Brecons Run - Sunday 11th April

Ok... Who's up for a spin around the Brecons this Sunday (11th April)

All organisation shall be done here!

So far there is:

Me
Smiffy
Maxim

First thoughts are meet at 11am at say the Swansea west service station (junction 47, M4), then do the run, maybe a bacon buttie on the way somewhere, an ice cream, then go our separate ways.

All suggestions welcome!

Maxim & myself will meet you in Brecon as its easier for us

If Smiffy & Maxim are going to join in Brecon, then we can turn the run onto it's head to ensure we head in that direction first.
What about meeting just off Junction 45 on the A4067 towards Pontardawe? (There's a lay-by 100m after the roundabout on the left).
Then A4067 towards Brecon - past Dan-Yr Ogof showcaves. Up the old Trecastle road If you have never been over this road, then hehehehe! From Trecastle - Sennybridge - Defynnog, over Mynydd Illtyd (cracking views of Pen-Y-Fan) and into Brecon for the meet & maybe a cup of tea!
Then it's up the B4520 to Upper Chapel & then the B4519 to Garth.
Along the A483 to Llanwrtyd Wells & up to Abergwesyn & the Devil's Staircase, then around Llyn Brianne Res Stop off at the res for a breather, you'll need it by then!
Past Rhandirmwyn & down to Llandovery for a cup of tea!
Then, along the A4069 to Llangadog & over the Black Mountain, taking in Tro' Cuckoo (Hairpin) and down to Brynamman.
From there, it depends what people want to do.
Either go our seperate ways, or there are other options .
It's a fair spin, so ensure you'r all Optimaxed to the hilt before starting. There are garages, but I don't know what fuel they sell!!

Maybe we should aim to leave at 10:30?

Still on as far as I know.... maybe only a couple of us, but it's still on!!

Only just logged on and found this. What time and where are you meeting? I'll try my best to turn up, (but Easter and family visitors may hamper my escape). Also going back to Canada on Monday, so Mrs. F may want me to herself on Sunday !!!!

There's an ice cream parlour on the road into Brecon, (where we've stopped before), or the big supermarket car park behind the town centre - both good meeting points. Got your number anyway so we can call you.

Hi all,

I'd love to join you if I could -- I drove this same road from Swansea (Morriston) to Brecon (Llangorse Lake) a couple of times in 2003. From my father's house to my siste's house -- The Vicarage, Llangorse. It's a great road -- I know it well. Unfortunately the bridge from Culpeper, VA to South Wales is not yet in the planning stage so I'll have to settle for a run on the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia! Hey isn't that a song. Anyway it won't be the same as the Beacons -- I'll be thinking about you -- and all the fun you're going to have. A CymruCooper in the USA

Tis a damn shame mate... you'll have to take it up with the town council and get these bridge plans accelerated!!

Thinking about cancelling the S, I can keep up with those twin piped cowboys with 115bhp no probs

Good run today guys. Some great roads & some crazy driving! Stopped off at Tesco's on the way back to jet wash the car! Gottas keep it clean!
