Lovely road, The Old Military Roman Road -
just don't have a heavy breakfast before you do it.

I used half of the road on the start of last years Great Northern Run, and again in January on the Borders Run. We turned off at Chollerford then headed up to Otterburn, Rothbury & Wooler the back down thru Bamburgh Castle and Seahouses and the Coastal Route - It's a lovely run.

Why don't you join us on some of the Round Great Britain Run in May?

That reminds me I thought Mr & Mrs S Crow were going to sort a run out in that area, perhaps heading down towards Alston, nudge, nudge

There are some brilliant roads up there, and as Hat says... much less traffic (but don't tell everyone )

Sorted:

Date September 12th

Meet Throckley

Leave Throckley B6528 on B6318
Stop at Vindolanda (approx 30 miles)
Leave on B6318 to Greenhead
Greenhead to Brampton A69
Brampton A69 to A689 Alston
A689 Alston to A686 towards Haydon Bridge
A686 to B6305 Hexham
Stop at Hexham (approx 80 miles total)
B6305 Hexham to B6306 Edmundbyers
B6306 Edmundbyers to B6278 barnard Castle
Stop (approx 120 miles total)

Now all we need is a volunteer to find somewhere to meet at or near Throckley, somewhere to stop for food stuff at or near Hexham and someone to try it. I know there are car parks and toilets at Vindolanda and Barnard Castle, Hexham is the problem area.
