Well,

That's what I thought, however, as I have said before, we have to fit the route to reach the hotels and not the other way round

Some hotels have already been booked for weddings, so we do need to get ourselves organised ASAP

Updated Snowdonia for you

Alternative hotel for Day 1 is currently under "optioned", same as the hotel for Day 3 in Dumfries. This means we have provisionally allocated the rooms, and we must say yah or nah whether to go with them by 12 Aug 2004.

As for the alternative hotel for Day 1, once we have agreed to go with the Innlodge, then ALL of us will stay there, and those who have booked into the Royal Beach can then cancel their reservations.

I believe it is in everyone's interests that we stay as a group throughout the entire event.

The bookings with Best Western for Day 1 and Day 3 must be handled as group bookings, as they will not accept reservations made individually

So no, you cannot book into Best Western Innlodge yet

Hope this makes sense.

Catch you later

You could help with the decision making process by rallying the troops

Or just beat them into submission

Catch you later, off to fill Apple up for the run tomorrow, night night!

Helen and I are booked into Leeds (29/4), Portsmouth (30/4) and Inverness (3/5). Having trouble booking Snowdonia due to not having a credit card that has any expiry date after 1/5 but will phone them direct to try and sort something out. Group booking for different Portsmouth and Dunfries hotel fine with us. Cheers

I respect the aged, so I shall make allowances for you

Edinburgh, we are NOT stopping at Edinburgh

If you meant Inverness for Day 4 (which is miles away from Edinburgh last time I looked at the map ), then that still stands, so please DO NOT CANCEL

Those who have booked into the Royal Beach Hotel in Portsmouth for Day 1 will need to cancel their bookings with the Royal Beach if the group agree to decamp the group to Best Western Innlodge in Portsmouth in order to stay as one group.

HOWEVER, until we have a consenses agreement to take the Best Western group booking, I believe it will be unwised for those who have booked into the Royal Beach to cancel their bookings.

So Max, hold on to your bookings with the Royal Beach until further notice, please

As for Dumfries, that information was only posted up last thing Friday, so I suggest we give it another 48h for people to come online after the weekend to see what they think.

I personally would strongly advise to take the group booking option for Portsmouth and Dumfries with Best Western, purely because the rates are very good

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In summary, just for Max :

1. Those who have booked hotels so far, please DO NOT cancel any bookings you have made until further notice.

2. Please indicate your preferences (as in go/no go) with regard to taking the group bookings with Best Western for Portsmouth and Dumfries no later than 11 Aug 2004.

2.1 PLEASE read the T&Cs with regard to group booking, and my proposed way of handling them in the first post of this thread BEFORE you make your decision

Hope this make sense, and stay away from the single malt, Max
