You do need to secure your rooms with a CC though, and better do it quickly before they run out of rooms!!!

sorry DK EH1 = Princes Street

Slap me down any time in the next day or so, if I deserve this

Edinburgh is not in Borders

Besides, it would be quite expensive to stay in Edinburgh I think

Better get yourself padded for this Sunday then

Found anyone else to convoy with you yet?

OK,

Since reservations have been raised with regard to staying at Dumfries, please suggest alternative location and I shall see if Best Western can accommodate us.

HOWEVER, please do so quickly, and don't hold your breathe - hotels cannot be moved to meet the route, which should be bleeding obvious, even for Max

His ears must be burning by now

We can discuss this on Sunday if we can't get hold of him between now and Sunday

As i said to DK a while back, its really upto the North leg organisers to decide where and when we stop. im just combining the various legs into one overall route!

So lets hear from the Scottish organisers!

Dumfries is fine with me but if you need an alternative what about Carlisle? or if we want something further north there is a "days-Inn" lodge situated in spectacular scenery at Abington https://www.welcomebreak.co.uk/book_a_room.php?id=1
I know it's a travel lodge type place but Its in the middle of no where with a large motorway service area so pleanty of food options. I've stayed before at it was very nice.

I thought the brief was "no boring motorway travel inn/lodges", that's all

Good recommendations, and thank you

Mummy Mini, Best Western have the Moffat House Hotel in Moffat which is a beautiful historic mansion in its own grounds in the town centre between Dumfries and Glasgow - 1 mile off the A74

Unfortunately they cannot accommodate us - there are only 20 rooms in the entire hotel!

My brief to them was to find a hotel in "Borders", which included the Moffat House Hotel.

They returned and offered us Dumfries instead.
