Great work DK.
Does this mean I should now cancel my booking in the other Portsmouth hotel now.

Sally at Best Western confirmed that if bookings are cancelled before any non-refundable deposit is paid in Dec 04 for Dumfries and Jan 05 for Portsmouth, then no charges will be incurred

I have been doing some risk analysis, and came to the conclusion that those of us who have booked into the Royal Beach Hotel at Portsmouth should retain their bookings, in case we have to pull out of the group deal with Best Western.

It does not cost us anything by holding on to our bookings, and it is no-cost cancellation if we cancel before the deadline, which is 1 day before arrival

This way, those of us who are committed to this will definitely have roofs over our heads

Need to sort out somewhere for interceptor, bubblegoose_4rh and cooperchick66 though

Comments/views please

Unfortunatley looks as if I'm in the same position

However at the very least still going to try and show up at some point on day3 and do the Inverness overnighter.

Allen

That's a real shame

PLEASE try and come to Inverness for the overnighter - the rates are too good to miss, and we'll have a great time I am sure

Taz,

You have booked into all the hotels that required individual bookings

I have advised those of us who have booked into the Royal Beach Hotel at Portsmouth not to cancel our bookings yet, until we are certain that we shall decamp to the Innlodge Hotel.

The Royal Beach is a nicer hotel according to Loz, location wise.

However, they do not have anymore rooms available, so interceptor and bubblegoose_4rh, and anyone else that come along now, will not be able to stay with the rest of us.

For me, I am quite happy to stay at the Innlodge Hotel so that the group can be together, which I believe is an important factor for an event such as this

Over to the rest who have booked the Royal Beach to decide
