Ireland North West Run, Ireland - October 2004 - Hotel Poll / Information

Ok, I’m just checking out hotel options for the run. Basically, we have the choice of The Sandhouse Hotel in Rossnowlagh, its situated on a beautiful beach which a few of you will have experiences on Mizen to Malin. This hotel is pretty special, and is furnished with antiques in most of the rooms, with a sea view room, the view out to the Atlantic Ocean is spectacular.

The cost per night quoted here was € 160.00 (£105.00) per night, double / twin B & B. I’m pretty confident I can get this down to € 130.00 (£85.00) per night, or maybe less.

Or, we can go with the Radisson Hotel in Rosses Point , again, Rosses Point is well known to anyone who has done MtM, spectacular views, though the Radisson isn’t situated on the coast. The hotel is totally new, only open since June, and is very well finished, in the Scandanavian style, with vast facilities.

The cost per night quoted here was € 130.00 (£85.00) per night, double / twin B & B. The rate of € 110.00 I had previously was for Sunday night. The € 130.00 rate is a webdeal, the price quoted to me was € 150.00 (£99.00) actually by e-mail.

Hotels are more expensive here than in the UK, and in view of the relatively small numbers, its hard to hammer the rates down further………

So, can I ask firstly, who will definitely be staying, and for how many nights?

And secondly, which hotel would you choose, or alternatively, do you want me to try and find somewhere cheaper?

Reason these hotels are being considered is for location, think it would be nice to stay somewhere special, making the most of the scenery for everyone, and car parking / security , just for peace of mind for everyone, plus the standard of accommodation is high.

Ok, can you let me know what you think?

@ Barry!!!

TBH i'd just like somewhere comfortable and reasonably cheap, £85 per night is ok, probbaly be staying 2 nights Friday and Saturday nights heading back on the Sunday afternoon, either for a night in Dublin or back to the ferry and stay back in Wales.
