The Darkness Returns - Halloween Night Run - 30th October 2004

This thread is for people planning/considering attending The Darkness Returns run on Saturday October 30th, starting and stopping in Milton Keynes.

Use this thread for general banter, planning places to stay (my house is full already, sorry) and other scare mongering/event discussions...

For those seeking a place to stay....

The run will finish in Stony Stratford, home of the Stony Stagger, birthplace of the phrase " & Bull Story" and other claims to fame! ), which tends to mean that you either stay in a "historical", but very nice hotel, or you stay down the road at the Travellodge (walking distance from town centre, but up hill!).

Places to stay in town include:

Calverton Lodge

http://www.calvertonlodge.co.uk/
Rooms: 15Price: £25-£67.50 per room

The Hotel

http://www.cockhotel-miltonkeynes.com/
Rooms: 31Price: Single £55.00 - £85.00
Double £75.00 - £100.00

Hotel Different Drummer

http://www.hoteldifferentdrummer.co.uk/
Single: £49.00 - £77.00
Double/Twin Rooms: £77.00 - £120.00

Bull Hotel

Be damned if I can find details of a website...

Travel Lodge:

http://www.travelodge.co.uk/
Looks like they only have £50 rooms on that day.

I'll come up with a list of places by the end of tomorrow in MK....

Need to think about the run start and stop points. The pub we finished at last time was great, but is a bit out of the way for places to stay.

More central would probably be wise, and could provide a nice, more dramatic end to the run too.

Thoughts....

I'd just like some quick views on what time people think the run should end, and if people would like to try and all go to one type of place to eat at the end (like a pub with food, to cater everyone's tastes), or finish somewhere with a choice of venues?
