| We are holidaying near St Tropez while this is going on and thought it would be fun to convoy down with you as far as St Raphael where we would peel off for our normal holiday. We would book the 11.15 ferry crossing with you guys and then stay with you for the first four days of the trip till we reach the lunch stop or whatever on the Cote d'Azur. We don't want to take up a space that you might have for someone who is doing the whole trip, but if there is no problem with us joining you for a part of the trip then we would love to come and will get the ferry trip booked. Can you let us know if you can accommodate us in your plans as we think this would be a much better way of getting to the Riviera than just flying. | Stu, Since Luxembourg is a lot cheaper than France for duty free would suggest we rearrange slightly to spend last night in Luxembourg and have another day further south. Reason is that I don't really like any of the port towns on France's north-eastern coast - maybe a smaller place more inland as a better compromise without all the crappy day tripper elements (snob in me ) |

| Yeah, i had been thinking about that. We could have 2 nights in Luxembourg (I'm sure Ian and those nice people at Garage Arnold Kontz would find some things to keep us entertained). The only minor downside is the 270 mile drive to Boulogne on the last day to get the ferry. It would be all motorways so its probably only 3-4 hours drive. |

| how about spending the last night in Bruges? Went there years ago, quite pretty lots of excellent beers and chocolate and as for eats, well just a plate of moules or frites with mayo, will leave more space for the beer ![]() Oh and let me know if you want a hand looking for 'our type' of hotels Last edited by Rick; Jan 5th, 2005 at 08:48 PM. |

| Natalie and I had lunch here, just south of Epernay; http://ldf.reservit.com/reservit/fic...cis=1104949978 Outstanding hotel. Best food for 15 quid I have ever eaten! We are going for Easter. Just a thought for night one. Bubbly anyone ![]() WhatCar? Claim: “As hot hatches go, it’s hotter than a blacksmith’s armpit.” |
