Although we haven't posted recently we are still coming on the run, with 2 cars.

I'd like to go, never been on a run before, but how essential is the London bit? I know the tube network, I avoid driving through London like the plague! Plus no radio. Hmm

Welcome to MINI2

Brave of you to choose this run as your first run.

The need to have a good knowledge of London's road cannot be more strongly emphasized - there are very few road signs, and you do need to have a fairly good idea of how to get from A to B.

THIS RUN IS NOT FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW LONDON WELL!!!

I am not trying to put anyone off, however, I got lost in the City during recces and felt very helpless without a map or sat nav.

I do not expect much traffic on the road on Boxing Day, however, we still have to obey the rules of the road. If we get split up at the lights, the cars in front may not be able to stop and wait for the others. So you could find yourself on your own.

As mentioned before, PLEASE bring your walkie talkies along with you - we definitely need them for communication!!!

Did another recce this morning without the route, as in blind, and we were fine apart from St. Paul's>City>Tower Bridge>Blackfrier's Bridge bit.

All the road works around St. Paul's had gone, which meant my previous route had to be re-done

We went back and did St. Paul's>City 4 times in order to get it right and feel happy about that part of the route

Run notes will be posted up in the next couple of days, providing Max leaves me alone to get on with it

Final recce is Christmas morning at 08:00h

Hard copies will be available on the day

TTFN, off to Chinatown for lunch and a spot of shopping

The route takes about 1.5h, however, that is without waiting people to catch up or stopping for photos etc...

Therefore I propose a 10:00h start on the day

Hiya everyone....unfortunately, Boxing Day is now looking a bit dodgy for me....

I woke up this morning with the glands on my neck the size of golf balls, a fever and a sore throat! "That tharr be glandular fever" said the nurse!

Taking it easy for the next few days, however if it clears up in time, I will be there!

Will keep you posted!!

Jon x
