Return to the Ring 2005 - 11th June 2005 to 15th / 17th June 2005. Hi all, Well, it would be rude not to wouldn't it. Proposed Dates are : (inc Nordschleife Opening Hours) LiteTrip recommended for the total petrol heads. Heavy Trip recommended for people who want to spend some time exploring the wonderful Eifel region. Lite Trip. 11.06.2005, Saturday, 18:00hrs - 19:30hrs - Travel Out Date. 12.06.2005, Sunday, 08:00hrs - 19:30hrs 13.06.2005, Monday, 13:00hrs - 19:30hrs 14.06.2005, Tuesday, 17:45hrs - 19:30hrs 15.06.2005, Wednesday - Return Date. Heavy Trip ! 11.06.2005, Saturday, 18:00hrs - 19:30hrs - Travel Out Date. 12.06.2005, Sunday, 08:00hrs - 19:30hrs 13.06.2005, Monday, 13:00hrs - 19:30hrs 14.06.2005, Tuesday, 17:45hrs - 19:30hrs 15.06.2005, Wednesday, 17:45hrs - 19:30hrs 16.06.2005, Thursday, 17:45hrs - 19:30hrs 17.06.2005, Friday - Return Date. Transport - http://www.speedferries.co.uk/ are cheap ! I've booked the following : 11.6.2005 - 11:15 - Dover / Boulogne - 13:05 17.6.2005 - 17:30 - Boulogne / Dover - 17:20 £70 Return if booked now - I'm waiting for a response from this wonderful company on the chance of discounts. Hotels - Have a look at the links on Ben's site at http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/ I've already booked into http://www.hotel-an-der-nordschleife...h/index_e.html http://www.onroad-cafe.de http://www.hotel-noss.de Insurance http://www.competition-car-insurance...rack_days1.htm Quoted me around £200 so worth looking into if your policy (like mine) dosn't cover you for "Track Days" and specifically "De-Restricted Toll Roads". Information Before you sign up please take time to read Ben's pages above. The Nurburgring is one of the most thrilling tracks to drive in the world, but its also dangerous if you fail to give it respect - Read the safety information carefully. In 2003 we counted 13 Mini's out of England and sadly only 12 back. This trip is being (semi) organised by myself with the help of others, but you and you alone are responsible for your actions, the organisers are in no way responsible for anything that may happen to you or your car due to your - or someone elses negligence. Check your vehicle insurance policy before you even think of signing up ! Any questions please PM me or Steve: dwbrown - Dave.B - mini@brownz.org (07767) 458151 s_and_m - Steve.W-M Last edited by dwbrown; May 15th, 2005 at 05:28 PM. |

| Run to the Ring Brownz, I knew I'd seen a thread somewhere! I'm up for this (but not the INMM though - did that on the first Ring trip, no need to do it again!). I'd like to go in May sometime so that I can pitch for another trip in September Saty in the An Der Nord as it's more central and you can see the track and go down mid week so we get some quieter laps in beofre the mad busy weekend?Up for a DTM or similar race on, more time to sit in bars and drink. Also keen to book the Taxi this time (although NOT the Viper )Opening times should be published at the end of the month so we can firm up a date then! S ![]() |

| Put me down as a possible - and I will drive round this time I've also got a mate who's interested in doing it on a bike - anyone know of a bike trailer that will fit behind a MINI? Mark ![]() Back with a bigger boot |

| I heard that from LMB My tyre guys were shocked when they saw the new T1-Rs as they have a solid raised ring of rubber that runs right around the outer edge of the tyre, seemingly trapping water into the contact spot, where as the T1-S vent all the way to the sides. So far all I can say is that on damp roads the T1-Rs grip a lot better than any runflat, but I haven't tried them in the very wet yet. And glad you are thinking of coming to the ring - it'll be my first trip in an S and I'm hoping to beat the 10 minute barrier (just like Clarkson - but with way more style ). My best in the Cooper was 10:35 - on runflats )S ![]() |

I think we could get a few guys from the ' Peoples Republic Of Cork ' to travel for this if the dates work . my 1st time at the Ring was in a hired Merc 220 coupe last July now I want to try it in a MINI .anyone hiring MINIs in Germany with NO Ring exemptions ? would be easier for us to fly to Cologne but if we have to drive I am sure it will be ok as well Gerard |

| Why Not? Between Brownz, you and me, I'm sure we can get something worked out! Howabout I do the ferries, you do the Hotel (An Der Nord for me please) and dwbrown does the weiners and beir? All we really need is a NordSchleife timetable so that we can work out when to go - And Gerard - would be great to have soem of those fast little feckers along - eithjer flying or driving. Maxim has hired vars out their before, but not Minis. Perhap Keevan knows of somewhere where you can get Ring Minis from - I'll PM him S ![]() |
