| Awwww %%%% it! | Cotswolds 3 - 16th July 2005 (Post events pics and chit chat) ***** FLY THE FLAG ***** Following the outrageous bombing in London please put a flag on your MINI for this run and show the World we're proud to be British update ..... make it any flag, just be proud of your nationality and let's not allow the murderers to think otherwise - make it clear to them that "WE'RE NOT AFRAID"![]() The run will take place on Saturday 16th July, followed by a night of fun leaving folks the Sunday to recover. Window stickers will be for sale on the day - they are limited to 100 stickers so it will only be one per car until the evening and then any leftover can be bought first come first served. Rakey has kindly volunteered to sell these on the day so look for him if you want a sticker. **************************** Update 1st July - pacenotes added Pace notes are attached, and added to the first post too There are also directions for getting from Sixfields, at the end of the run, to the Moathouse for those stopping for a few beers and an evening social after the run.The two morning sections are a bit longer than the afternoon, each about an hour and hte afternoon's each about 45 minutes. The morning also takes in the touristy bits including Woodstock, Burford, Bourton and lots of typical Cotswolds' villages. The afternoon is less touristy and more of a "drive". Both morning and afternoon have some cracking roads and a ford !! Please take special note of instruction 34 - and do not just follow the car in front when you get to that point !! The total run is about 115 miles. There is a Shell garage en-route just after Woodstock. Given that the run is a Saturday and we are not rushing home for work the following day at the end of the run we will have an unrushed picnic lunch stop at Kingham, assuming it's not raining, to give folks a chance to chat. To keep it simple I will have just two groups this year, the first to leave wil be the Puddlers at 10.20am led by Mini Adventurer and Mad Brummie, with the rest leaving at 10.30am - as always all timings are 'ish Don't forget your picnics! And if you do or you are feeling lazy you'll be pleased to know that the Cherwell Services now have a Marks & Spencers Simply Food outlet .................... **************************** The start point will be the Cherwell Valley Services, J10 M40, at 10.00am with a view to having all MINIs departed by 10.30am. If you want to be in the Puddler Group be sure to be there for 10.00am as you will be first group out at about 10.20. I'm please to confirm we will be lunching at Kingham Hill School again - those of you who did the inaugral Cotwolds will remember it. There will be a charge of £3 per car to use the school grpunds - this will cover the fee charged by the school with any excess raised going into the MINI2 Charity Fund account for distribution to charity. Lunch will be a bring your own picnic so let's hope it's sunny and dry! There will be toilet facilities at the school but no snack bar so you need to provide all your own food and drink. Please ensure you take all your rubbish away with you please. The end point will be Sixfields Stadium in Northampton where we will have a brief re-group and farewells to those not stoping for the evening's social (how could you ) before continuing into the town itself and parking up at the Moathouse. Being a Saturday and summer we will not be rushing to get back so we may well have a long lunch of a couple of hours resulting in a late arival at Sixfields about 5.30/6.00Saturday Night Hotel will be the Moathouse in Northampton I have got a block allocation of 60 rooms at £60 for a single B&B and £68 for Double B&B. To book a room ring +44 1604 739988 and ask for reservations who are open 08:00-19:00. Request a room from the "MINI2" block. You can get the same rate for additional nights if you want to travel down early/stay late. MINI Hire Wollastons have kindly agreed to offer rental MINIs at a special MINI2 rate ,and this will be held at the same rate they offered us last year To get further details please contact Rob on +44 (0) 1604 625443 , make sure you mention MINI2 and hte Cotswolds Run to get the good price.
