to be honest it wasn't that much fun. exactly the same format as previous years & exactly the same Russ Swift show that i've seen half a dozen times before. All the sales staff were taking a days pay to do essentially feck all seems weird that it supposed to be a Mini open day & all the minis are in the workshop & the showroom & forecourt are full of BMWs.

I think they ply of having all those 1 Series lined up was a bit deliberate... It may have well been a one series day

i wasn't hungry. The 'chef' had to go find a shop to buy more bread cakes at one point

centre stage in the showroom was given over to a 6 series convertible with enormous 21" AC Schintzer wheels. OK if you like that kind of thing but seeing as it was a mini open day it would have been good to have a mini convertible (of which there were none there at all) or a car with full works kit.

kind of reinforces the prestons sales team's attitude to mini really

Your right.... only one mini in the showroom and that was locked with a sold sign on it... the only minis on the forecourt were the ones invloved in russ swifts show....

you would have thought a line up of the current models, etc etc would have been the least the could manage....

maybe they were hoping someone would buy the 6 series a snip at £69,995

I was thinking of coming to this but it looks like my initial trip of something more local (the Totally Transport show at South beach in Blackpool) was a much better day. Amongst all the American and British classics there were 3 MINI's hiding between about 120 classic ones.
