South Downs Run 2005 - friday nighter signup

Folks this thread is for all those at are planning to arrive on the Friday night before the run.

Please refer to the main thread (use the link from my signature) below if u need any information.

The majority of people are going to be staying at the lakeside caravan park. I have checked with the site and theres plenty of space for additional attendees. I have confirmation that late arrivals are fine, as long as you book in advance. Security will be on gate after 6pm to book you in.

When you arrive in at the site, try and camp in a very large area so that we can create a tent village for all of the MINI2 campers. For myself Friday night is gonna be a chillout and have a few bevvies and some food next to the tent. So if you wish to join us then please post on the thread below. (Sorry i dont have time to trawl the main thread and find out whos going to camp..) Also add to the thread what tasty beverages and food you will bring along to the evening. Picnic blankets are mandatory

see you there. ( if u dont know me, just look out for a black CooperS with a huge SouthDownsRun sticker on the back window)

So far the Friday night campers are:
  1. SCooperMan_UK +3
  2. Poppet
  3. Janey
  4. Azoutje
  5. Trainman + Mark
  6. Cookie + crew
  7. Minicab (Jon in disguise)
  8. PaulC + Den (welcome to MINI2 first run)
  9. Chris + Jax (welcome to MINI2 first run)
  10. WildsMCSC +1
Cookie / Trainman bringing BBQ's please post on thread what you will be bringing. Idea is to pool food. Bring own booze etc...

Im going to be doing fryup the following morning too!!!! all welcome

Hey Loz, what about a BBQ

Can you add me and Janey, Azoutje, Trainman,Cookie and Minicab to the list staying on friday please as we are all camping

We were thinking of going out as a few people have been saying that they would like that, however I might be just as intreasted in a bbq at the campsite if it's good weather

Yep,

The Cookie crew will be up for tinnies/Barbeque at the campsite on Friday night. It'll be the best option as we can just take the kids back to the tent when they get tired, set up a baby monitor and then come back to the throng and enjoy the rest of the evening....

Oh and I just checked the weather on the met office site, Friday should be sunny and 24 degs during the day and 16 degs and dry overnight, so should be good for a Barbeque

sounds a good idea. we wont get there to late anyway probably 8ish. also i have very limited space in my MINI, 4 passengers (2 kids in car seats) tent, sleeping bags and mats X 4...etc ...etc...

if someone with space can organise i will pay my contribution. dont get me wrong i would like to do this, but i havent got space in the car for BBQ's and coolboxes...

perhaps some one local could organise a trip to the supermarket?

I'll have a portable Gas barbeque with me which I'm happy to share, it is pretty small though about 18" x 8" so I doubt it'll be big enough to cater for everyone . We're expecting to get down to Chichester around lunchtime/early afternoon buit may well go down to the beach at Bognor or Wittering with the kids before or after setting up the tent. We are taking two cars as family of four plus camping stuff into a Cooper doesn't fit, so even if we've pitched the tent and gone to the beach in the MINI my other car (the rather distinctive yellow Triumph GT6 as per my signature below, with an SCNM and a "My other cars a Mini Cooper sticker in the back window ) will be parked up by the tent (Which is a two tone green colour) if we have been the first to pitch up and any other MINI2ers want to pitch close by.

We'll probably nip out to Sainsbury's at Chichester to get some fresh stuff for the barbie so will be able to pick up some salad/rolls etc.
